I dunno why but I think Rey will be a bit cold, smart, independent but abrasive. I don't think she will take fools gladly. Maybe she will soften but who knows

 

This poll needs the option of Luke being her Father.

 

That's what I thought. Apparently her being unrelated is more in the realm of possibility.

 

That could well be the case, but I hope not. Having another member of the Skywalker clan rise to power and commit unspeakable atrocities changes the complexion of the story. It goes from being about how a son redeemed his father, to being about a bloodline of terror. If the only good the Skywalkers do is to foil their evil relatives (and then only AFTER they've committed holocaust level crimes), it starts to look like the best move for the galaxy would be to exterminate all the Skywalkers just to be safe.

If you've got Skywalker blood, and you know that if you have a baby there's a 50/50 chance that child will grow up to destroy a populated planet/slaughter innocent children/subjugate billions/plunge the entire galaxy into bloody war, you might want to consider getting a pet instead.

 

If they can Clone and make Cyborgs.... Surely tied tubes might be an option.... lol

I think Rey's staff top looks even more like a saber now. It even looks like it doesn't fit in the staff very well. It looks like it was put there so it could easily be removed.

 

I'm beginning to think she killed one of the imperial royals guards on another planet & has carried it with her every since.

 

I agree. Rey is a Luke daughter in my opinion.

except electrostaffs are double ended, rey's staff only has one end that looks like it does somthing

 

If the blade shoots out of one end. Why does it look like she is holding the staff like a quarterstaff about to strike. For this to be a true the staff is taller than her and then still a light sabre blade shoots out. This rumor just keeps going.

 

it could be a short blade, like a spearhead. look up sojutsu, japanese spear fighting, that could be rey's fighting style. her staff could be a lightyari

 

I am not saying that it a staff lightsaber. I have said before I think she is hiding her lightsaber on the top of her staff. She is hiding it In sight of everyone but no one really knows what it is because the average person (in the SWU) has never seen a lightsaber and never met a jedi. I think she knows who she is and is on a Jedi mission not merely what she appears to be in the trailer and from half reports about her character. The truth is we don't know very much about her at all. We know she is on Jakku and she leaves Jakku but we don't know why she is there or why she leaves. Yes there is lots of speculation about why she is there and why she leaves but no one has reported a single line of dialogue from the movie (which is crazy to me with all of the other alleged leaks). At this point it could be a silent film with only voice overs from Luke and Snoke.

 

Those that we saw so far. Electrostaffs with one end could exist.

 

More to the point, she could have fashioned her own version built with left over parts found on Jakku while scavenging. Perhaps she was only able to find one end intact?

 

Couldn't agree more, I think Rey is already a jedi and has her own double bladed lightsaber concealed on that staff. The fact that she fights with a staff seems like a clear indication that she is powerful enough to even consider going into a fight with such a useless weapon. Why on earth would she be so dumb to fight with a stick in a galaxy where everyone could have a blaster? This doesn't make sense unless she is a jedi and these fights are not really a threat to her. An electrostaff doesn't seem very likely either, they seem to be useless against blasters as well and only used against lightsabers by disposable droids like the magnaguards.
