4th viewing confirmations and observations

Yup.
Even without checking I was thinking the reason why the resistance doesn't seem to have anything but x-wings was because they are basically privately funded outlaws.
Sure enough even the x-wing model they use is outdated.
They fly T-70s whilst the New Republic is using T-85s.

 

As she falls out of the sequence and back to reality, the last line is what McGregor recorded. The other voice was Alec Guinness saying one word afraid. Yoda, and Luke's voice was in there. I did not pick up the Yoda part.

 

The first time I saw it I thought that he lost an arm and a leg, then just a leg, and only on the third viewing did I notice that he was just slashed and poked

 

Funny, the first time I saw it I thought that he received a few superficial saber cuts and that the worst injury he got was from Chewie's blast (and to his pride from being bested when he thought he had the battle with Rey in the bag).

I thought that his injuries were enough to not be able to jump the ravine between them (like the Jedi's and Sith's could have so easily done in the prequel movies)... but that his injuries otherwise were not that bad at all.

It was only on this forum that I realised that so many other people thought his injuries were so severe. It's funny how so many people can watch the same thing and see things so dramatically different.

Apparently some people saw arms and legs flying across the screen or something.

 

Well there is a piece of his robe flying off after the first slash when he's kicked down

 

I agree, she did have a very surprised look on her face...but she also had her arm raised as if she was calling it....so did the force raise her arm, are was she just giving it a try like she did with the mind control over the stormtrooper

Another thing I did notice on my 4th viewing yesterday was that 3PO had his normal arm back in the final shot where they are all watching Rey and Chewie take off...it looked to me like he did.

He did! I finally made it a point to watch for that today on my 6th viewing. That, or the lighting is really funny and totally makes the red arm appear gold.

 

ok, here are my impressions:

one thing that bugged me the whole time was Leia. Not Carrie Fisher's acting, but something with her face. Today I kept an eye out for it and yes, they slathered so much make up on her face (or went over it in post production with way too much softener) that it just looks wrong.

Guys, that woman is around 60: she is supposed to have wrinkles and crows feet! Stop that!

Something that occured to me only today:

When Finn finds Rey on Starkiller she kinda jumps into his arms. It only occured to me today that Finn is the only one who ever came back to get her.

 

I went with a friend today to see TFA. She's a casual fan, but she did comment that Carrie Fisher's voice took her out of the moment whenever Leia was on screen. I don't let it bother me. We have our original heroes back, and that makes me happy.

 

Not Botox. Carrie Fisher looks nothing like this.

It's just layers upon layers of make up caked onto her face.
Havy foundation, heavy concealer, a great deal of contouring going on, especially around her eyes and lips.

They just shouldn't do this.
Carrie Fisher looks fine in natural and this many make-up just ... it looks so wrong.


As for the X-wing. Damn!

But thanks anyways.

Another thing I noticed (at least in the German dub):

The Stormtrooper who reports to Kylo when they are looking for Rey is a woman, too.

Only took me four viewings ^^

 

I think so too...

His comment "what girl" and Rey's vision are no coincidence
