Sometimes TV shows intended to be suitable for children give the characters so much plot armor that it completely undermines any sense of danger that ever appears. Every death is always a fake out, to the point that it is insulting to the viewers (even kids!).

    So
I’m going to have to agree - I hope they have the guts for Tech to stay dead.
The show is more exciting if there is real danger.

Finally caught up and watched all four episodes with my friend on Sunday. We LOVED the tension and overall slowburn plot. It made Episode 4 that much more rewarding. We can't wait to see Episode 5 this weekend!

Broadly speaking, I do agree that fake-out deaths can be unsatisfying. And I agree that it's more exciting when there's real danger. But on the other hand, this is Star Wars we're dealing with, which by and large is not shy about killing off major characters.

From a narrative standpoint, while it would be admirable if...
Tech truly is gone, at the same time, we've lost so many great clones already. :( There is a part of me hoping for that reason that he might still be out there.

S3E5 was one of those "filler episodes" that I didn't mind.........kinda. I did want to see how the guys were going to handle the smoke with Crosshair coming back into the family. The "kinda" come from me wanting more out the episode since this is the final season. I get that the data pad was was critical to the mission, I think I'm just pushing the story forward in my head now that we are counting down and seeing just how much Omega means to the story line. Nice filler episode, just give me more towards the overall story.

Mostly I enjoyed the build-up to the argument between 2 brothers. Anyone who has a brother or 2 knows those looks and snappish remarks. It was just an oddly satisfying episode that didn't do too much.

I think it really depends on what it is you value in a story. If you’re mainly here for the plot, then yeah, there wasn’t a whole lot of broader incident to latch on to. But if you’re big into character, like me, then this episode was absolutely essential.

This was the direct resolution to the emotional cliffhanger of the previous episode. It’s the unsettled conflict that’s been lingering since the series premier. It definitely deserved a whole episode to itself.

I’m really impressed with them that they didn’t just fold it in with the larger circumstance. It’s mature decisions like that I like so much about this show. It’s about people, not just empty scenarios.

Agreed with eeprom. I thought this was a fantastic episode. My favourite so far this season, in fact. Not the least of which because of the great character development. But I also loved the suspenseful build-up after the sensor beacons were turned off and we knew something scary was coming, but we didn't know what.

I really hate watching the clones die. I find it to be the most foul part of Palp's plan. Millions of men 'born to die'. And I mean killing poor Fireball with a fireball basically?

Loved both episodes. Excellent action. Great themes and foreshadowing.

I agree. There should've been more smoke between all of them not just Hunter and Crosshair though.

I'm ready to see who the reformed assassin clone is. I feel like Crosshair's fight with the assassin was a little personal. We did hear in the episode that they tried to convert Crosshair. I'm thinking they may have had a prior run in during the training and maybe the assassin clone is either jealous of Crosshair because the Empire failed to convert Crosshair and let him live. Or maybe he despises Crosshair for this and looks down on Crosshair in a way. To back track a little, what made me think of this their fight. Their styles seemed very similar and the assassin was able to shoot down the crews ship while they were flying away. For a moment I thought maybe it was a clone of Crosshair but I couldn't think of any reason of why they would clone him at this point in time. Also the speed at which the clones need to mature wouldn't align with this. Either way, I'm hoping for a really dope reveal.

Jeez.... Season 3 doesn't have it's own thread?!! I need to remedy that. Anyway, I've been sitting on a theory since the trailer dropped, and since it looks as though a certain Dathomirian former Jedi turned bounty hunter will be making an appearance this week, I figure I should just drop this right here and let it do as it will. SPOILER tag just for good Measure.
Somehow, Asajj Ventress or her DNA fell into the hands of Palpatine and was put into the works in the cloning experiments. Actually, several Jedi are being used and that's probably what we saw both in Rebels and Obi-Wan Kenobi with the keeping of dead Jedi. One of the earliest tests of this was, wait for it.....
    Omega.
Omega was created with Jango and Asajj DNA and that is her "defect"

It's possible that Asajj is taking these M-count bounties from the Empire and is instead putting the targets into an early version of The Path. This could serve as an ideal future for Omega and the Boys and would help explain away their existence or lack thereof in future storylines. Secretive agents of the Secret Path.

That's a great hypothesis. One I would be all onboard with.

It's a shame this is the final season, because where do they take the character from here?

Fun fact: I think this is the first time in new canon they said the word midichlorians!

I think Omega has a future in stories. The Batch and Clones are likely gonna take back seats going forward. It seems unlikely that Omega would be created and so deeply developed simply for this series. I honestly never liked the idea of her being Force-sensitive, but this week has changed my mind. Love that we still are not sure if she is or isn't...

As far as Asajj, I would say she is probably not done in this series and it's 99% that she will be one of the stars of Tales of the Jedi S2

How many episodes are left? Are they gonna cure Crosshair's shakes in one episode?

Great episode, and I enjoyed seeing Asajj again. Especially since, on a more trivial note, we never saw her animated form with hair before, which was originally planned for The Clone Wars before it got cut. So in a sense, it feels like we're getting a missing piece of the story filled in, which is satisfying. I do hope they have a decent explanation for why she's back though, that doesn't clash with Dark Disciple.
