Thanks! I'm actually hyped up for this show as well. I loved the Darth Bane trilogy in the old E.U. I can imagine this will have a similar feel to it. I love the idea of a show that tells the story from the "villains" point of view. This might be the most I've been hyped up about Star Wars since Rogue One.

Super excited for this one! For many reasons.
It's already iffing some people off for the same reasons High Republic did – women, gay characters, headlined by gay writer etc. various bigotry reasons.
But High Republic already proved, that you can have well written stories where everything flows naturally without any pandering.
The show being handled by Headland and others plus the varied and interesting cast is promising in bringing in new style and flair to the source material.
Set aside different era in SW universe and after the Sith being just an echo around the sequel trilogy, exploring more of the roots and bringing in some mystery, that I've felt as a kid watching the whole Sidious/Maul duo in Phantom Menace.

I just really, really hope, that the state of the Hollywood, for which the studios are to blame and the state of Star Wars, for which Disney is to blame, won't affect this series as much. I do strongly believe, that no artist or creator wants to create subpar piece of entertainment, but things like execs, budgets and studio meddlings in general can break down even the greatest talents.
We can only imagine, how would the Ep. 9 look, if Abrams got more time to produce the movie with all the factors he had to fight against and what the hell happened with BOBF and Mando 3 behind the scenes.

Let the creators have their way, with reasonable mantinels.

During the strike, I began to be in huge disfavor of Bob Iger... he reminds me of some of my own bosses (I work as an art director in brand/marketing) with his comments, who just go for the trends and numbers and are completely detached from the reality of his own employees and in the end, their own bussiness as they are surrounded by the same back patting execs, who set up the rules of the game for everyone and do not get really, what it makes to create a good piece of work. It's either this works, this doesn't, if it doesn't work, we kill it and try something else and over and over and over... while it would be nice to step down, take a breather and reevaluate your status quo, before damaging the brand further.

I wonder why we haven't heard much about Carrie-Ann Moss in this show. I wonder if she gets dusted early on or something. I would think you'd want to name-drop a actor like her associated with this show.

 

Because the Inquisitor's real name is Trinity.

 

And Mr. Anderson is Revan?

That poster really is quite dark for Star Wars! Remind me; is this the first time we see blood in live action SW since Old Ben amputated Ponda Baba in ANH?

I will confess that I've approached the Acolyte series with some trepidation. That said, I thought the trailer looked pretty good. Fingers-crossed.

 

First impression: This looks great! Both familiar and fresh, and full of exciting tension. Yup, I'm in

Second thought: IIRC, this is much of the SW Celebration teaser, but expanded with lots of additional stuff

Initially I wasn't interested in this because of the kids stuff and thought it would be light (no pun intended) hearted or something like that but this was a fantastic trailer! Way more impressive than I expected
