SPOILER "Aftermath: Empire's End" By Chuck Wendig (Discussion)

I gotta say with the exception of one or two chapters I really dug this book just like "Life Debt" was much better than "Aftermath" "Empire's End" was so much better. Few quick thing:

-We really need more Lando (and Lobot)
-We really need more (any) Post-Jedi Luke
-I liked Bone's first death better, it was much more shocking and him putting himself back together like Bender took away from the moment, but Bones improved so much since the first book so at least the character improved
-I think more of the main crew should have died, at least Norra maybe Sinjir or Jas.
-I would have preferred Jom's death be a chapter from his POV rather than "oh this happened" dialogue
-I have been interested in Sloane since "A New Dawn" first came out and I hope she gets her own Unknown Regions book
-What if Thrawn is on the Super Star Destroyer that Sloane is meeting up with?
-We should have gotten more returning characters at Jakku (Nien Nunb, Rikeen, Dodonna?)
-Did General Madine survive the Liberation Day attack? They said he was rumored to have been killed in "Life Debt" but didn't answer the question here
-I hope we get a book about Han and Chewie getting back together after Luke takes Ben
-the "Zhe" and "Zher" stuff still feels so out of place
- What happens to Wedge between this and Force Awakens
- I liked Sloane's "first order" line
-I hope we see more Church of the Force, maybe it is an offshoot of the Guardians of the Whills, maybe we'll see Lor San Takka in the Baze/Chirrut book
- More Embo and Dengar
-Is Cobb Vanth Boba? and if not where is Boba?
-Is Niima alive during Force Awakens?
-Felt odd that C3PO and R2 weren't forced in
- We should get a Twilight Company sequel that takes pace entirely on Jakku
- I wonder if Sloane is technically the founder of the First Order or is that something that comes once Snoke is involved?
-Armitage Hux being there from the beginning explains his confidence in questioning and saying "Blast you" to Kylo
- I hope we get official art for Rax as well as the other main characters (they should use a high school photo of Greg Grunberg for Snap)
- So Chewie's got a family? Cool? What I really want to see is him reuniting with Captain Tarfful

I know there is more but I can't remember right now.

It is exactly that, and yes.

 

I have a feeling Wedge, Norra and Snap will play a prominent role in whatever animated series we get after Rebels. If it was an X-Wing oriented series that would be pretty cool, and the interludes imply there will be plenty for them to do.

Also, did anyone else imagine Sinjir played by the guy who played Baltar in BSG? Anytime I read Sinjir's lines it was Baltar's voice in my head.
