Maybe there was something in the title of The Ancient Fear. Something that goes far beyond this single galaxy.

I too mentioned that when Snoke was revealed...so to speak. Personally, I think it'd be cool to be introduced to the species instead of the ideal...

Seems like just a guy sharing an opinion. I think there is an implied "for me". Similarly, people understand opinions, and thus every post doesn't have to start with "it is just my opinion that".

This could potentially work, especially since the initial concept art for Snoke was described as being like an old withered corpse. I think the "beyond" will definitely tie into Snoke's character and that he'll be at least one of the things that the Imperials find in the mysterious nebulae.

Ooooooo. That sounds crucial. Haven't read the book yet . Sounds dope (so far). Unknown territory.

So this new super weapon will not only destroy a planet but the whole galaxy? Dark Ancient Galaxy vs Known Galaxy?

A really really long time ago, in a dark galaxy farther away...

Here's the initial report of Snoke, back when we learned his character's codename was "Uber."

    http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2014/12/exclusive-andy-serkis-force-awakens.html

It should be noted though that we've since gotten reports that other potential concept art of Snoke portrayed him as a more snake-like creature, but we have no idea which design they ended up going with. It could even be something that neither SWU or MSW have seen yet.

I doubt that. I just figured that I would bring up the initial description on Snoke's character, since the subject of a Netherworld of sorts came up.

Hopefully this isn't setup to do a cross-over between Marvel and Star Wars...

Explain in a nutshell, if you can? Meaning the complex story not your ability.

That may be how it sounds, but I don't think that's what they actually mean...

It's kind of like they've taken the idea of the Yuuzhan Vong as a threat from beyond the galaxy... but instead of making them invisible in the force, they're making them a big powerful dark-side race, closer to the pureblood sith. I wouldn't mind that...

It's though interesting that when asked after the first teaser, Andy Serkis mentioned that Snoke had "been through some stuff.’
I wonder how this all fits together?

Are the Acolytes students of Luke and his council of Force ghost Masters that have gone beyond the veil of the Force? They'd likely be interested in rounding up any remnants of the Sith and their artifacts and seeing that they are destroyed.

I am looking forward to this book even more now, will definitely be devouring it when it arrives in the mail this Friday, it will no doubt reveal some interesting things, yet probably leave us with far more questions than answers.

    I don't think so...
The acolytes want to destroy the lightsaber to reunite them with their master in death... I don't think Luke is interested in doing that.
Also, the lead acolyte of the 3 who go to Taris is described as a pale woman... and they all have veiled vaces.

I doubt the lightsaber actually was Vader's anyway, because last we saw of Vader's saber it was falling into the Death Star chasm. Bringing back Skywalker's lightsaber from Bespin is one thing... bringing back Vader's is just a little too ridiculous.

I think these acolytes are more the beginning of a weird Sith/Force worshipping cult.

That's actually what the Vong were originally intended to be. However, Lucas rejected it, so they instead made the Vong invisible to The Force. When the Vong were intended to be a dark side race, they were also intended to be the ones who corrupted Ajunta Pall and his followers.

i was thinking along the same lines. As soon as I heard "Acolytes of Beyond" I thought, uh oh, Disney owns Marvel and Marvel had/has the omnipotent supra-galactic "Beyonders" in the Secret Wars story line. Surely all this leading up to a Marvel/Lucasfilm crossover as Star Wars: Secret Wars is "beyond the pale":p
