I do think this could fold somehow into what becomes the First Order. I can't remember the details but wasn't Snoke a known entity before being revealed as the leader of the First Order? He somehow had a relationship with Ben Solo. I guess they could explain it differently, but seems like he would have to been in the New Republic to have access to getting to know Ben.

Sounds like you are now prepared for the greatest one yet: "BAYLAN SKOLL IS LUKE SKYWALKER'S REAL FATHER!!"

1.3 million views, last I checked. That's a lot of dumb people.

Not sure how Snoke, or Pre-Snoke would fit into the timeline as party to the NR and gaining access to Ben Solo that way. It seems as though Ben was in the care of Luke from a pretty young age, and it's probably unlikely that a grown adult Snoke would have a relationship with a very young Ben, seeing his powerful political parents. Probably more likely he was some sort of Jedi/Force outlier like Lor SanTekka and Maz Kanata that would have crossed paths with Leia, Han and/or Luke.

I do think we could see the first appearance and origin of Snoke mixed in somehow with the new Galaxy, and the imminent exploration of the Unknown Regions and Wild Space in the Mandoverse. Do not think Baylan is any part of Snoke's story, and doubt we will get a detailed story arc dedicated to Snoke, especially not in live-action. My assumption/hope is that F&F will tread lightly and subtly when filling in the more glaring and divisive elements of the ST.

I’ve always suspected Snoke has been “dead” at some point. With his Frankenstein’s appearance.

I really think you’re overthinking things. A show with limited run time can’t take the time to explain the whys and connections for every little thing. Besides how many times in life did you get to a certain point and realize there was something easy and obvious you could have done to make your life easier. The more time you spend trying to look for perfect logic to try to hold every piece of a work of fiction together the more you’re going to find yourself disappointed.

I’m sure you think this is a big enough plot point to warrant this connective tissue, but I’ll point out you seem to be on an island with this criticism so the vast majority of the audience seem to be able to go with it and enjoy the show.

This is a Star Wars forum dedicated to discussing all aspects of Star Wars with other people who appreciate Star Wars. There is no ‘overthinking’ it in this space. That’s why we’re here. We get to be nerds with other nerds.
One single line of dialogue would do the trick. One second of precious screentime. A clever writer can say a lot without needing to say a lot.
This isn’t real life. It’s a carefully constructed fantasy world. Everything that happens in it, happens by choice. It was a choice not to include easily to include information about our characters and their circumstance.
‘Perfect logic’ isn’t the same as ‘common sense’. I’m not looking to poke holes here. I’m pointing out why a particular scene didn’t work for me.

I invest in characters and their motivations. That’s where I derive my enjoyment in story. When characters act out-of-character in a story, I don’t enjoy it as much - the end.
I’m not concerned with other people’s enjoyment. I can only speak to my own experience. Shabby character construction is off-putting to me. Simple as that. I hope the finale will do better.

I’m sure that’s true. I’m just suggesting that if you don’t over think things you might enjoy things a little more. If you don’t that’s fine too. I’d rather just enjoy the story being told and it seems like I’m having a better time.

Let’s look at it this way.

I enjoy tacos. I think they’re yummy. I enjoy tacos MOST when they’re spicey. I don’t DISlike tacos that aren’t spicey, but that’s my preference. That’s my taste.

If I bight into a taco I was expecting to be spicey and it isn’t, well that’s a bummer, but I’m not going to spit it out. I’m not going to throw it away. I’ll finish it and I’ll probably like it. But I’ll miss that spice. I’ll miss that flavor I like. However good it ends up being, it could have been better if it had the ingredient I know elevates it for me.

I wish this scene, and episode in general, had more of what it is I know I like. Because I know it’s in there.

    Make sense?

Right. Has this even been explained at all since 2015 in ANY format?
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think Shin knows what she want's. She strikes me as confused but I hope she goes with
Ahsoka and crew at some point. I want her to "join the light" but am hesitant just the same because that may not be her character.

Baylan must be under a foreign influence. His decision making is.......out of kilter. He brings her all this way just to dish her off to Thrawn? Nah. Even with the Hati wolf legend at play here it just seems off IMO but maybe that's a point with these two. Perhaps their comradery was never meant to endure. They strike me as more mechanical than spiritual so perhaps this is how the two wolves on two different paths play out; One chasing the sun (light/new beginning) the other chasing the moon (darkness/"fleeting power"). I'm up in the air on this like a lost balloon full of helium.

You mean where did Snoke come from? Yeah, Palps had him cooked up in a test tube. He's a 'strand-cast' according to the novelization. An attempt to create a replacement body, that didn't work out. So he made him a puppet.

For the most part, the show has felt rich and deep with regards to Baylan & Shin's relationship - he is the thoughtful mentor, with a willingness to be violent and she is the impatient apprentice, quick to anger. Also, she is hungry for power AND station. If we take a step back, most of their conversations seem like they could have been had, years ago. (Maybe they they did, and we'll read about it someday.) So it does feel out of kilter to send her off (even with wise words) to chase her dreams in a place of desolation that everyone is trying to leave. Perhaps THIS is the lesson - that Baylan knew she was NOT ready - after all, he did not dismount, direct her to do the same and cut off her braid.

When the death troopers retreated, it was telling that she had no clue what to do.... and ran.

I'm in the camp that believes only Thrawn & co are leaving right now.

I definitely found that turnabout pretty abrupt.

Shin’s been having to be convinced by Baylan to go along with these jokers the whole time. She’s noticeably uncomfortable working with them. Baylan tells her her path is with them and she’s just ‘Well . . . . alright then. Seeya.’ Is there a scene missing between them?

There are quite a few speculations and what-ifs out there for the season finale, but I just saw one that is instantly my favorite and would be a great emotional bit.
    What if?
Ezra, Sabine and Ahsoka sneak back onto the Chimera, in a last attempt to prevent Thrawn from returning to the known Galaxy. As they creep through the ship, they enter Thrawn's office.
(We deserve that iconic location here!)
Sabine looks at the pieces of her art that he has acquired, suddenly, Ezra freezes. He is staring an an object on a shelf. He reaches out, a deathly silence fills the room as Sabine and Ahsoka look at him. Suddenly, the whir of a blue lightsaber igniting, and Ezra is holding the saber of Kanan Jarrus.

lol, no... but a galaxy that seemingly hasn't been ravaged by decades of war, and well away from the prying eyes of the New Republic and even out of reach of Leia's Resistance... the Sith Eternal could already exist as its own Empire in this galaxy, the slate it totally blank.

Could be. That’s an interesting idea. But I thought that was the whole basis for Exegol. At this point in the timeline, clone Palpatine should already be there building that massive fleet*, right? That location is already away from the prying eyes of the New Republic and out of reach of Leia’s Resistance.

    * I like to imagine a rotting clone Palpatine, barely holding a blowtorch, trying to weld two panels together by himself. “<heavy sigh> . . . . this would be a lot easier if I had all my fingers . . . well, back to work.”

That episode was missing something or just felt weird like they changed it or something after Ray passed. I will describe it as anti-climatic.

Loved the Ezra battle-call during the chase and then his buddy-guy pops out with a sling-shot and starts spraying down, excellent call back to early Rebels. How do those Noti put their clothes on?

IMO, the big bad has not been revealed yet, Baylan has set-off in a mission by himself that results in his death either by it's hands or Thrawn's. It was very surprising to me for him to just abandon Shin. Very strange twist. Their relationship seems almost a business arrangement now.
