Are Episodes X, XI and XII likely to ever happen?

Who knows? Perhaps Episodes X-XII may come out in 2021,2023 and 2025. And I really hope they do. I would much prefer the Skywalker Episode saga. Sure I'm looking forward to some anthology films like Rogue One and Han Solo but I like the Episode films cause they're like a soap opera and deal with a family and their role in protecting the galaxy. I hope Episodes X,XI and XII will deal with Rey leading a New Jedi Order.

 

I would like to just Episode X. I think they should end the SW saga off with 10 but wouldnt be surprise to see what will hopefully be the last trilogy. I dont want to see them recycle history and see another Jedi Order and Siths and Empire and Rebellion and Luke and Yoda Voice and Millenium falcon and padiwans and yea. I mean they are going to another direction on the SW anthology. I mean its doesnt get my force hard and will it link into the main storyline of the SW trilogy? I dont think so. I mean we already know they blow up the first death star so why watch rogue one. If they made the first anthology backstory to KOR, BEN solo, and the failed Jedi academy then i would watch that. im steering away from the thread tho. I like to see Episode X. thats me. I love SW but I think we can just leave it to imagine when its over.

I think that another trilogy is almost a certainty eventually. I'm just not sure how long we'll have to wait.
If I had to guess, I'd say maybe something like a decade or so after this one wraps up (but that's just a complete shot in the dark). I'm thinking that they'll want to really let the audience and the fanbase get to now the time period of the ST and explore it in the EU before they introduce another part of the Saga.

 

I certainly hope so!! I don't EVER want Star Wars to end again, I don't know if my little heart can take another halt to production of Star Wars films, regardless of our feelings about the prequels, (I have arguments against them and in defense of them, I understand both sides), I was dumbfounded when it hit me after RotS that we weren't going to have anymore cinematic adventures in A galaxy far far away, BOB IGER SAVED US

 

i defiantly think it will happen at some point, thou its going to be hard to keep it original by that point.

 

I think they didn't just went through years of planning and hired Daisy, John and Oscar among thousands, and bought the Star Wars for only one trilogy. It's about to happen, I'm pretty sure.

 

Where did you see that? I had thought Disney just said they'd be making Star Wars movies (in general) for as long as they'd be profitable.

My wish was that instead of doing two separate trilogies, that they would have just done a 6 part series. There is so much story to cram into 3 films... I could easily see them doing it over the course of 6... and that's what I hope they do.

It worked for Harry Potter, & that was 7 part series!

 

That would be my wish (for them to extend the story)... I'm also concerned that with Williams entering his 90's... that he wouldn't be around to score 10-12. I'm listening to the extended cut of TFA music... there are so many subtle things about his music that just scream Star Wars. Without those I feel like Star Wars might not be the same

If they do 10-12 it would be cool to see JJ or Johnson come back though... maybe JJ will have had enough of a break.

It should be a trilogy of trilogies.

Anything more than that would seem tacked on.

After Episode 9, we should call it a day with the Skywalker saga, and explore completely new time frames and scenarios with other films. I would love to see a trilogy of Jedi/Sith ancient origin movies.

 

I think a fourth trilogy is needed because the Jedi Order might not be reestablished until the climax or end of Episode IX. And that will likely be reestablished by Rey in Episodes X-XII. Perhaps Episodes 10-12 could be about the New Republic and the New Jedi Order fighting either an alien threat in the Unknown Regions or even destroying all the asteroids and moons with the labs and communication stations that are trying to harvest the dark side. Or perhaps in Episode X the Knights of Ren will have increased to hundreds or thousands of Knights and they will have acquired their own armada of warships and starfighters and the Jedi/Republic try to defeat them in Episodes 10-12.

 

Personally, I think a trilogy of trilogies is perfect. Not just because of the symmetry, but because it is highly unlikely that we'll see Luke Skywalker or hear John Williams in a fourth trilogy. Star Wars without a Skywalker or without Williams' music just doesn't seem right. Plus, Lucas seemed to lean much more heavily toward there being 9 episodes than there being 12.

Ever since childhood I'd dreamed of actually seeing 9 Star Wars movies. Anything more than that is for another generation, I guess.

 

IMO they should do a 4th trilogy 30 years after this trilogy, see an aged Rey, Finn, Poe the rebuilt Jedi Order and strong Republic, maybe bring some KOTOR/TOR era villains, like a reborn Lord Vitiate/Valkorion and throw out the rule of 2 and have a massive Sith Armada, troops, Dark Jedi you name it and maybe that being the final 3 SW movies.

That way between Episode I and Episode XII you'd have 100 years go by from the Old Republic and Jedi Order destroyed to the rise and fall of the Galactic Empire and Sith and the Jedi and Republic being reborn and in full control again and a final showdown between the Dark Side and the Light

 

Well....I didn't say they had to wait until 2049 to make another trilogy, I mean they could also do another trilogy set 30 years after this one and get older actors to play 50 something year old Finn and Rey and 60 something year old Poe, assuming that all 3 survive this trilogy.

That is....unless they decide to make a 4th trilogy set a couple of years after Episode IX
