How do they catch these wonderful little things?! I mean, surely just an easter egg, but that is a HIGH-LEVEL Easter egg. I haven't caught much Aurebesh in the series so far, but probably just because everything else is so eye-catching. I am digging all the runes and Err-Katt stuff, I guess I need to pause my Mand'oa and learn that next. Who needs to learn an actual, usable earth-bound language anyway, right?

I've enjoyed the mysterious endgame/goal but sure hope it's all revealed by mid episode of the last one than the very end and a cliffhanger

 

I thought for a moment that the rematch between Baylan and Ahsoka was going to be quite one sided in Tano's favour. And then Baylan would have the same near death/WBW experience that she did.

I don't mind still not having a clue what he's after. But it better be good.

Baylan goes through the motions of being the stoic knight. Contemptuous and aloof of his old way of life's failure. But really, he's damaged.

 

It better be good and an actual thing and not like a delusional pipe dream like it sounds and so nothing ends up happening

 

When Baylan cut Shin loose, it was kind of equivalent to Obi Wan telling Luke his destiny lies along a different path. Perhaps that hints at Baylan expecting to “die” and return in a more powerful form.

 

At first reading, I thought you said he cut off her little padawan braid.
(It could have been a nice moment )

 

Instead, she cut Ezra's hair. And we had a nice laugh.

 

Well the teams all together now, force user, Mandalorian, and seasoned Jedi Master.

 

I think Baylan has done what he needed to do to survive, protect Shin, and get to this point in his quest. It didn't seem in episode 1 that Peridea was his ultimate target, but I think he realized early on in his work with Elsbeth that what he sought was very likely in the same place she was looking for. He went to work for her with the ulterior motive of finding this power he wants. He blatantly hated the thought of killing Ahsoka or any Jedi who was still alive and he seems to know a great deal about Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra... Probably from those Inquisitorious data files that Morgan has. He did what he had to do, even compromised his own feelings in order to do the job and get to Peridea. Now he is crestfallen that he is still being tasked with killing Jedi. He no longer needs to work for Morgan, he can't trust Thrawn, so what happened in ep 7 was his way of walking away from them without a potentially deadly confrontation.

He dismissed Shin partly as a test to see what she truly desired, and also because he knows that betraying the Bad Guys is a dangerous decision and he doesn't want to drag her into possible death. He will possibly see her retreating back to him as proof of her loyalty and intentions. Will he accept her back or keep pushing her to take her place in the "New Empire", which btw, was a very telling choice of words for him to use as he clearly has massive hatred of Vader and the Empire.

I think and hope both Baylan and Shin will survive the season, but very curious and excited to see where and how and what is next for these absolutely brilliant characters.

 

Via the world between worlds - destroy them all and create a new Star Wars timeline?

Spoiler: What might they might be doing with Baylan, after Ray Stevenson died

Rumor is... Baylan was supposed to merge with whatever entity that has been calling to him. And Ray was set to play the enhanced version of himself in season 2/ movie whatever.... Now, Baylan merges with same entity, but will not retain his form. If true, I have no problems with it.

 

It would be pretty hilarious if the thing he’s looking for turns out to be the thing Thrawn is loading onto the Chimera.

 

If I'm honest, I cannot dream up a better outcome for Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll.

Spoiler: I find the thought, comforting....

- that Baylan dies with Ray. Or at least ceases to exist as we knew him. Poetic feels, for obvious reasons.

I can see them and personaly, I can buy them honoring Ray Stevenson in not showing what he found and leave it for the remaining heroes, that will also find out what has happened to poor Baylan. If we speculate that he either dies in the process or becomes something more or whatever they set him up for.
I presume that Baylan either thinks that he will find some device or means of power, that he can wield or influence and shape the world in his image
or it is a great reset, basically undoing everything that existed, but I am not sure if SW will ever play with something on such a big scale and with one person being able to control such power and such scale. Not even the Mortis Gods were omnipotent and existed with limitations.

You know, some hint or cliffhangerish shot might have at least give us something more of a speculation or setup for what's next.
Or is he just going to toss his super strong lightsaber/Excalibur, that Ahsoka had so much trouble with, into that mountain that we see on the horizon?

I am expecting some crazy Marvel comic book, to show us at least Baylan's history during and after Order 66 that will be more eventful than most of the live action series that we've got and definitely more than Ahsoka.
Again, offscreen in supportive reading material.
Get back into reading kids, there's more Star Wars on paper than in the telly and it's more beneficial for you.

I am getting kinda fatigued by Order 66 already, maybe give me some more force users like Ezra or kickstart the new Jedi order, so we don't have to rethread with every new Jedi, how he or she he survived the Purge and we still know nothing about Grogu, besides him being saved by Ahmed Best looking cool.
