Hard to say whether old Ben would have agreed to help the Rebellion in the first place had Luke not brought R2 to him. Had Leia actually found him and given him the skinny on the situation, Kenobi may have chosen to stay right where he was instead of going out of his way to involve Luke. Who can say though?

It could be also that she was the one he was to train? All kinds of things to speculate.

Hopefully we have more answers about what were the plans of Obi-Wan regarding Luke in the incoming canon material - there is a comic issue coming soon "Star Wars 20". Also there has been some speculation if we would hear any mention of Obi-Wan in Rebels Season 3. In my opinion, we might not have a concrete answer, and by the tone of Princess Leia's message, it seems contacting Obi-Wan was the last resort she had, but let's see.

Cool idea. I had always pictured it as a hand-off (no pun intended) though. She drops the plans with Obi-Wan and then books it. Otherwise, why involve him at all?

Of course at the time of Star Wars (the first one), it wasn't dreamed of, but the way it is now, it's left wide open. Leia is the one who had martial arts/self defense training, military training, etc, Luke was pretty much innocent and a moisture farmer with some piloting skills. They could go there, but after the Death Star and other experiences dealing with Darth Vader it of course became evident that she would not be willing or a good candidate for that, but before? It could be a whole different story.

Geez... agree. Though Anakin only left one lightsaber for two children lol.

Maybe that was the plan behind: get Obi-Wan to Alderaan and get Leia trained with him.

Though a very cool thing would have been to get Leia trained with Ahsoka earlier on. Well, just thinking of the might-have-been here lol.

True but Naboo wasn't a true Monarchy, was it? Queen to them, I think, was more for show and it was an electable position that expired after their term was up or voted out. As opposed to a life long appointment. Also, Padme was just a senator when she had the twins.

Yes, you're right about Padme. But as far as our dear Centrist Lady Cerise in Bloodline is concerned, even those ceremonial positions count as nobility, right? ;)

I haven't read the entire book yet but I do remember Lady Cerise asking Leia to take a position with her house or something. This may be a spoiler for me but does Lady Cerise know that Leia was adopted by Bail or does she think that Leia is the biological daughter?

At the beginning she knows that Leia was adopted by Bail as a "war orphan." However, she considers that the "royal" line would extend through adoption, which would make Leia a bona fide princess in her eyes.

When Lady Carise found the keepsake box in Birren, and she found Leia was Padme Amidala's daughter, she thought:

"A war orphan and yet a royal by birth? Surprised as lady Carise was, she decided that made sense. Leia's nobility was indeed in her blood."

Thus that make her royal, whichever type of monarchy was in Naboo.

If just reading the preview annoyed you, then its probably not for you my friend ;). For what its worth, the writing style didn't really bother me so much, rather, it was the bland story and forgettable characters that hindered my enjoyment. Also of note is Mr Wendig's behavior when defending his book. He frequently implied that those who didn't enjoy his book were either upset that he had gay characters in it(despite the fact that there have already been gay characters in other SW books), or that we simply hated it because of the EU reboot(despite the fact that it is hardly the first new Canon novel). He also backed up his claims by pointing to the high sales numbers of the book. No duh, the first new SW novel set after RotJ was bound to sell well regardless of its quality, just on preorders alone(I was one of those who preordered it). A lot of things about both the book and the behavior of the author just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Notice that Ms Gray has dealt with none of this kind of stuff due to the fact that she is actually an excellent author who writes great stories. It should be noted, however, that Mr Wendig's behavior has improved somewhat recently, however he still likes to brag about his sales numbers on Aftermath:rolleyes:.
