It could be, considering what we saw from Rey's vision,

Any speculation on Maz? I know we see Lupita in a quick shot. Could Maz be in the movie in present day or could it be a flashback to either her conversation with Rey or further back and how she obtained the lightsaber?

If someone thinks I am alone in my cut trough insights into the very fabric of Sequel trilogy , I am not.

My daughter (6) thinks Porgs have some facial features of our puppy, Pekingese

    cut its hairs ,and voila...

Since her castle was completely obliterated and since it takes time to reconstruct such an edifice, and TLJ starts right after TFA, there's nothing holding her on Takodana, so she's free to go wherever she wants. I guess she'll be on Canto Bight.

I can see that. To me, it looks like a baby seal crossed with a penguin:

    You are right.

    ..now I see..

Porgs are actually a water birds like penguins, not a flying birds!

They swimm in the seas and nest on the islands, a warm sea version of penguins.

I don't know if someone already noticed it, but this shot

    and this

are two reversed shots of the same location (look at the banister). So, Snoke's throne room, and Kylo going to have a briefing from Snoke? I'm so excited!

    This guy?
Yeah, I was surprised to see him. Looks like it could maybe be Gascon's species to me (apparently called an uncharacteristically Star Wars "Zilkin"). I dunno though, Gascon could be a different species.

Outside of the obvious color differences (that we see in other SW species anyway) Gascon has MUCH bigger hands than this lil guy. His eye-stalks appear to have larger bulbs on them, too, and don't have the things coming off the back of them like the casino guy. Also, the facial structure is very different. Gascon has a protruding Leno-like chin and nostrils above his mouth. The casino thing has a much droopier mouth with more protruding lips, and no visible nostrils. It could be the challenges of adapting something in a cartoon to live action, or it could be the differences in the Zilkin species, but I think the casino creature might be something new.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Kinda a bummer- it would've been a neat tie in.

I'm really looking forward to TLJ, but it almost seems like I'm starting to be won over by the argument that while the sequel movies are doing a great job at building the world of Star Wars, they're not looking back enough.

I mean, Rogue One perhaps was almost too reliant on nostalgia (but I loved it anyway) but hopefully we get a healthy dose of both the old and the new in Ep8.

I'm so glad we seem to have a new Star Wars that's actually super fleshed out and we may see some more city worlds. TFA and R1 both had pretty, but familiar and not very detailed or populated sets. :/

I'm a little anxious about this movie. It's clear this movie is going in a different and somewhat unexpected direction. To me that means anything and everything is on the table.

The Jedi literally ending? On the table

Rey being a non-Skywalker and the saga breaking from that bloodline? On the table

Some other crazy thing I haven't thought of? On the table

We're already 7 movies into this saga, at some point it will have to take a hard turn into uncharted territory or it will just get stale and repetitive. So I applaud any bold risks they take in this movie. Unfortunately we know big changes don't sit well with everyone. So no matter how well this movie is done, if it veers too far from what some fans have come to expect, it will turn a lot of people off. This a movie, so there is no right or wrong in terms of opinion. If the saga is all about nostalgia then you don't want any dramatic changes and that's cool. If you're all about exploring new and unexpected creative directions in film then that's cool too. I just don't see how this movie satisfies both camps (if they do... holy crap that would be threading an insanely narrow needle!)

I honestly don't know where along the spectrum along those camps I fall. But I fully expect this to be the most controversial SW movie by far because so much is on the table.

I recall RO BTS was released in June (on a Friday night I think) on ABC. They showed it SWC a day or two before that, and they showed SWC a sizzle reel/trailer and never released it.

The first RO trailer/teaser came out in April, just dropped on YouTube, maybe on GMA that morning, but it was on the web basically instantly.

The second teaser/first trailer they released was dropped in August in during prime time on NBC's coverage of the Summer Olympics in Brazil, if I'm not mistaken.

I think they just dropped that last trailer (the second main one, the one that dropped in October), but again, they could've shown it on GMA which doesn't make much difference because it's going to premiere in the morning and be on YouTube in minutes.

The first and only full US TFA trailer debuted in late October on MNF on ESPN at halftime.

They have lots of big games in prime time in late September & all of October ESPN & ABC if they want to go that route.

Dropping one late at night on Jimmy Kimmel's show is something Disney has done for many Marvel trailers. Marvel says they'll be dropping an Avengers 3 trailer in October because it'll be running before showings of Thor 3 starting in early November, so logic dictates they release the TLJ trailer before that...

I think they should drop a TLJ before October 1, but I have a soul, so I don't really understand the LFL marketing department. (Just a joke people, calm down. Not trolling).
