Can Ridley, Boyega & Hamill carry Ep.8

Blame George. And agree with you, she was territic in The Black Swan. Come one, even as love interest of Thor she's better lol. (Not hating the prequels either here lol)

You guys are all forgetting a character that had some of the funniest moments in the film....Chewie!!!
Who will Chewie pair up with? My guess is that Finn and Chewie will be buddies as they both helped each other out when injured. Trouble is, they setup Rey as the only other character that can understand Chewie. A Rey/Chewie pairing would be cool, but not sure how that could work with her learning from Luke. Will Rey, Luke, Chewie and R2 stay together on the Falcon while Poe, Finn and BB-8 hold down the Resistence fort?

Also, how much screen time does BB-8 get? He's clearly Poe's droid but also has a bond with Rey. What about R2 and Threepio? There are so many great characters without Luke, Han and Leia. I think that is why Leia sits out most of this film. Too many other great characters we need to see interact with each other.

 

Inside Llewyn Davis. Go see it. Even if you don't like the Coen bros and/or sixties folk music you will have to admit Isaac is a fantastic actor. Only time will tell but I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of him in the future, Sw or not.

And to be fair, apart from Ford we didn't get to see much of Hamil and Fisher outside of the OT. I love what they brought to those films, but great acting as in MVS 'Seventh Seal' great? If that's what you are looking for you might want to consider watching something other than a (albeit sublime) pulpy space opera.

 

Yeah SW and truly great acting have never really gone hand in hand. And that's fine, because it ain't really that kind of franchise. I mean Sir Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing bring a certain gravitas to their roles because, well they were just that awesome. But they were hardly to most challenging roles that those two ever did. And the Big Three grow into their roles nicely over time, but they aren't award-level performances. Some of the actors in the PT (most notably Ewan McGregor) do well, but same deal there. If anything, TFA has the best acting top to bottom of any SW film imo, easily.

Heck watch him in Ex Machina, or A Most Violent Year, or even Robin Hood (even thought that film wasn't great overall, he was good in it). The guy is not only a great actor, he's a chameleon acting-wise. And he's playing the main villain in X-Men: Apocalypse, which comes out in a few months, as well.

I think that it depends on how long they stay on that island. If they're made to leave for what ever reason, then you can get some fun interactions between Luke, Rey, Chewie, and R2 onboard the MF potentially. And TFA did set up a potentially fun/interesting dynamic between Rey and Chewie that I'd like to see more of in the future.

thank you thank you for that insight I happen to agree I think i read colin would have both Luke and liea in the 9 also but I think for the moment they have 3 new characters to add in so putting Liea in a coma for now i see how that works... so the can show off more of Derns character...
But if Luke is coming back to help the cause. the first thing you have to do is get family away from snoke to weaken him.... Also I think Ren may have powers that heal and once he finds out about his mother. Probably end of the movie is a guess. I think he will try to get to her to help her. (not that the planned on that ) But yes Luke wants to draw him out (spoiler here ) and Hans memorial will do it .... I dont they will be successful but it will be one step closer to turning him.
