And this is exactly why my Is that Leia thread was meant to stay on it's own. After seeing that artwork - and thinking about it - I totally agree with you. Leia as the villain. It's brilliant.

Death Star destroyed. Emperor dead. I've got the Force. Han is a good guy but... Then 20 years of non-stop warfare. Nothing works. Luke goes into exile. Galaxy is broken. Blast this - I'LL fix it.

I reckon it took so long for these to leak after announcing they had these pics so they could sort out advertising. Kaching kaching! Don't know about you guys but I haven't done much work today. My favourite is the Vader one. But if someone is "grave robbing" then surly we will see Endor (Forrest of Dean shot?). And there have been reports of lots of small people on set. Another thing is that with Star Wars movie scheduled every year from 2015 there must be a lot of talks and meetings going on about spin offs, episode 8 and 9.. Some of the reports and pictures might not be from episode 7. But thanks for the pics. Was thinking shall I look at these.. And that thought lasted about 3 seconds

The things about concept art is it's a concept. I don't see any spoilers here beyond what has already been said and speculated. The picture of the burned Vader helmet is cool but it's still a concept. Plus this could have been an intentional leak. It would not be beyond JJ to do such a thing.

now i gave you a 'great post' for your first post (welcome to the boards mate) but you lost it there.. we've all got daddy issues lol

i think its a definite possibility for Leia to be dark to whatever degree in these films, but..

i suspect we'll see all of the original 3 in ep7 in the way we remember them - at least initially. i don't think disney can tick the 'nostalgia' box without giving us a bit of what we remember. Can i see Leia doing a palpatine/senator thing.. absolutely!

i think everything's a good idea around here these days mind.. trying to edge my bets so i can say "i was right!" next year (dont tell anyone)

 

This is one of the challenges with the Leia as bad guy thing...showing how she got to that place...without a flashback. Because as we all KNOW - Star Wars Ain't Doing No Flashbacks Yo.

well here's the thing.. JJ doesn't need to use flashbacks. after the Vader reveal in ESB we all happily discussed the back story of vader for the biggest chunk of 20 years before an entire trilogy was made to give us what we had been craving. (yeah ok the PT didn't quite do it for most of us - nicest way i could say it)

wanna make Leia bad in ep7 JJ? just do it. Wanna give Luke kids and have one of em have an unhealthy obsession with wearing his grandparents outfits? do it. we'll work out the how's and the why's for the next 10 years.. if they explain everything.. what the hell are we gonna talk about? lol

 

Sorry - I appreciate Jason Ward's fandomness and all that - but I think what he did was a disservice. We all heard about these images second hand with his "take" on them. I think it's created more confusion and ambiguity than not. It would have been better if he hadn't written up his speculative descriptions - because at the end of the day he was just speculating. He didn't write clean, non-biased descriptions - he peppered them with all his ideas and thoughts. And unfortunately that has created more confusion than anything. Better if he had just posted them...or put them somewhere anonymously and then talked about them so that we could view them with our own eyes and create our own impressions.

Again - nothing against Jason and his love of Star Wars - but we blurred the line between reporting on something and speculating on something. I personally liked your reveals better Kyle.

 

He's joking - because Luke is a cyborg (hand)
