SPECULATION Connections with Star Wars Legacy

I don't know if this has been brought up before but after reading the following post by liespana and seeing the amount of similarities this stories seem to have with TFA, I thought it was a good idea to create a new thread so we can speculate about the possible connections.

So let's start with this Sith, Darth Wredd(Kylo) who is chasing Ania Solo(Rey) and Jao Assam(Finn) who have the lightsaber of Yalta Val(Luke).

"Darth Wredd was a male Human Sith apprentice, who served the One Sith during the Second Imperial Civil War. The man who became Darth Wredd had once been a good-natured Force-sensitive warrior from the remote, primitive planet Mala. Towards the end of the Second Imperial Civil War, the One Sith had tested a bioweapon which destroyed all life on his homeworld. However, the Sith spared the warrior's life and he was apprenticed to a Sith Lord, who stripped him of his identity and forced him to wear a helmet which enhanced his dark side powers. Embracing his new Sith identity, Darth Wredd developed a homicidal hatred towards the One Sith and sought to bring about their downfall."

So this brings some interesting ideas, in my case at least I never considered the possibility that Kylo might actually hate the first order, perhaps he is indeed trying to bring about their downfall and wants to make his own faction?

It's also interesting that before chasing Ania and company, Wredd ambushes and captures Yalta Val(Luke) and also:

"While looking through the shipment of junk, Solo discovered an Imperial communications droid, which had actually been launched by the crew of Imperial Knight Yalta Val a week earlier before their ship had been attacked."

So there doesn't seem to be a character that fits Poe's role in the beginning of this story but I would like to make the following speculation:
What if Luke had had that lightsaber for a while now? his ship was ambushed and he was captured by Kylo soon before the beginning of the movie, perhaps part of Luke's crew escapes the ship in an escape pod with the lightsaber and they arrive at that village? An SOS was sent so Leia sends Poe to investigate and the lightsaber then escapes with bb8(Imperial communications droid)?
So my main point with this line of thought is perhaps they are searching for Luke because he has been captured and they finally save him at the end of the movie, to be honest this makes more sense to me than many of the current rumors. Rey giving him back the lightsaber at the end of the movie would actually make sense, it is his current lightsaber, the one he was using.

I invite you all to read Ania Solo's story and all the characters related to it, as liespana said there so many clues there.

 

I'll keep adding more info as I keep reading, another interesting piece about a young an untrained Darth Wredd(Kylo):

"The man resolved to do what a Jedi would and came to the defense of his people. While he was unable to create a lightsaber, he was able to forge a sword, which he used to defeat the Schor-Goya when they attempted to attack his village."

I find this interesting, this happens before Wredd becomes a sith but there was speculation that perhaps Kylo is not very skilled at building a lightsaber and his current one is poorly built.

 

I'm just looking for parallels between the two stories and the characters, the Ania Solo part is too similar to the rumors about what happens on Jakku so I think it is highly probable they used this material as inspiration.

 

Another interesting parallel regarding Jao Assam(Finn):

"Upon arriving, the Carreras security forces, under Darth Wredd's command, attempted to arrest him but he managed to escape and landed on Carreras Major, a barren desert world. By that stage, the Carreras security forces had caught with Ania's ship but Ania and her associates managed to evade their pursuers and land on Carreras Major. There, Ania's ship was attacked by a giant tentacled monster. During the skirmish, Jao came to the aid of Ania and her associates and they managed to escape the monster."

So he escapes from Darth Wredd(Kylo), he lands on a barren desert world(Jakku) where he meets Ania(Rey) and he comes to her aid, I remember hearing rumors about Finn trying to help Rey who was being bullied at some point. In case I forgot to mention Jao Assam is black of course and it's funny Boyega was casted as him here:

"To the surprise of Solo and the others, when the freighter arrived at the coordinates where Val had vanished, there was no planet to be found, and they were soon captured in the tractor beam of a larger ship.[9] Dozens of tiny droids burst through the hull when the freighter was deposited in the larger ship's hangar, and Solo and her friends were forced out into the hangar where they were captured by Carreras guards."

So after leaving the desert planet they are captured by a larger ship and forced into the hangar, does this sound familiar?

 

"Ania fired her blaster at the shuttle's engine, destroying the starship. However, Darth Wredd leapt out of the burning shuttle and used the Force to hurl Ania against the hangar bay's wall. Jao Assam, backed by Sauk and AG-37, then attacked the Sith with their lightsaber and blasters. However, Darth Wredd used the Force to hurl his opponents away and sliced AG-37 in half. While exchanging lightsaber blows with Assam, Wredd taunted and goaded his opponent to do better. Assam then succeeded in blinding Wredd's right eye with his lightsaber. Despite his injuries, Darth Wredd was still strong enough to use the Force to hurl two pieces of shrapnel through Assam's armor, impaling the younger Knight. Wredd then escaped the station in another shuttle. The seriously wounded Assam was caught up in the subsequent drift generated by the shuttle's departure and floated in the space above Mala.[6]"

So in this case all of them are captured, but after their escape Jao Assam(Finn) confronts Wredd(Kylo) and gets seriously wounded. Really?
Wredd escapes but Ania goes after him.

"After escaping from the Carreras communications array, Darth Wredd returned to his secret base on Mala. After attending to his eye injury, Wredd changed into a black suit of armor, reminiscent of the late Sith Lord Darth Vader's armor, which also featured a mask that hid his blinded right eye."

It seems like Wredd(Kylo) likes to imitate Vader in some ways, this sounds familiar as well.

 

"In 138 ABY, Darth Wredd found an opportunity to move against the One Sith during the Carreras Incident. After trapping an Imperial Knight named Yalta Val in the Surd Nebula, Darth Wredd killed his master and stole Master's Val's identity and armor. He then took control of the Carreras G51 communications array and used it to announce his presence to the wider galaxy."

Another interesting point, one of the reasons Wredd(Kylo) captured Val(Luke) was to impersonate him and take control of the communications array.
Perhaps Kylo has a similar agenda? I think this is far fetched, perhaps this is a remote republic base where Luke is not well known, but maybe that pic of Driver in alliance flight suit is him after all? Briefly impersonating Luke for some purpose?

 

The super weapon and the puzzle:

"Due to his combat prowess and reputation, the man who became Darth Wredd did not anticipate a threat that he could not handle. During the last years of the Second Imperial Civil War, the One Sith's Galactic Empire invaded his homeworld. He tried to defend his people but was no match for the Sith. The Sith Lord who commanded the Imperial invasion disarmed him by destroying his sword with his lightsaber. Instead of killing him, the Sith Lord recognized the man's Force potential and decided to make him his apprentice. He started out by forcing the man to watch from his flagship as he took the opportunity to test a new Sith weapon designed by Vul Isen which devastated his homeworld and wiped out the population, leaving him as the only survivor. The planet was knocked off its orbit, becoming a rogue planet which wandered the galaxy. Afterwards, the Lord forced him to wear a mask all the time to ensure his obedience, temper his weakness, and to teach him hatred. Wredd was also stripped of his identity and was forced to adopt the persona of Darth Wredd. While his master's training technique succeeded in bringing him to the dark side, Darth Wredd developed an abiding homicidal hatred of his master and vowed to kill him when the opportunity arose. Darth Wredd spent his apprenticeship traveling on his master's starship.[1]"

Ok so there is obviously a super weapon as well on this story arc. On further investigation it seems this super weapon has two effects, a biological component that wiped out the population of Wredd's (Kylo) home world, and the blast itself that can knock a planet off its orbit.
When Wredd(Kylo) captures Val(Luke) it seems he takes him to his homeworld. When our heroes discover Val was imprisoned and decide to go rescue him the following happens:

"After loading Assam's starfighter aboard AG-37's freighter, they plotted a course for the last known coordinates of the uncharted planet in the Surd Nebula. While traveling there, they were pursued by a pair of Shifala starfighters and the starship's port thruster was hit by laser fire. Upon entering the nebula, the Carreras starfighters broke off their pursuit. Upon arriving at the coordinates, they discovered that the uncharted planet had simply vanished into space."

Now it seems we have a Kamino effect 2.0 here, this time the Rogue planet seems to be moving in an unknown trajectory and they have trouble finding it.
Remember the rumor about the droids solving a puzzle to find Luke's location? Well maybe they already know which planet he is prisoner in but they can't find the planet.
