Never is too late! I believe this thread will give us to talk a lot because I insist that we should take a review not only to Volume 2, we should read again all of them. I started to read the whole thing few days ago with totally different eyes looking for more connections with TFA and right now I'm about to start issue 23 of Volume 1 and there is still a LOT of character treatments and characterizations that have connections with TFA. Specially in the lead characters from the light and the dark. For example, there is a lot of Cade Skywalker in Rey (if the rumors are true) and there is a bit in the background story of Darth Kryat that sounds like all we have heard about Snoke and the development of the statement that the Force has Awaken.

The main reason why I think Legacy is very important for the script of VII is because in an interview of JJ with Jimmy Kimmel back in 2013 he actually said that they had a lot of troubles with the story of the next SW movie... And we all know that is true. They needed help... Legacy was a series that sell pretty well, everybody loved it and it was until 2012 that Legacy ended (if I'm not wrong) This comics believe it or not, back in the day, I remember that they pushed the slogan of "This is the Future of Star Wars" like no other comic/novel before. It's a solid story that respected the hole EU back in the day before CANON.

And CANON is another reason. Again, as a Star Wars fan I didn't want this movie (VII) to be an adaptation of a story of the EU. I wanted a original story BUT with George Lucas approval and of course with a lot of references from the EU. So I think it was for them a brilliant move to take serious consideration the EU specially if they were having troubles with the story. Like it or not, the EU kept Star Wars alive for fans for all this years, and we enjoyed it, dig it and it worked.

Also, recently, Alan Driver said that this movie is all about the characters, characterization and story. And as you said, JJ does strong refresh and it's because the characterization. So yeah, they had to conquer all troubles they had with the story and ended up doing all the movie based on characterization, and storytelling. So I think we will have a new sequel trilogy with a story with a lot of twists, it will be a long, tangled and complicated story. Combine the hole six movies add more twists and I think we will be getting closer to VII.

So have fun with this thread. I'm just speculating of course and sharing my vision; everybody should do it too!

    cheers!

Righto! As for Legacy Vol.1, there are other cyborg references other than Darth Wredd. For example. Cade is nearly choked and killed by Azlyn Rae after he saves her life with his uncle's help, when she just wanted to die.

This is really interesting. It's beginnning to look more and more like the writers took some good ideas from lesser known EU stories and are repurposing them here as well as with Legacy 2. If done well, this could be a great story. It gives Snoke some credible power and makes him a credible threat due to his precognition

I agree he is not some film prodigy. But I did like Super 8 and as far as diehard Star Trek fans not liking it, I always viewed Trek to be have a more niche following and Star Wars to have a wider appeal. Also Abrams has stated he was not a Trek fan but is a diehard Star Wars fan so hopefully he can pull it off.

Sith love interest? Wouldn't it be crazy if Rey fell for Kylo? Maybe before he becames so crazy. I know that won't happen based on rumors but something to think about.

Remember the rumor that Gleeson's The General was actually playing both sides? That he was trying to destroy The First Order from within? Isn't that a similar concept(different motives obviously) to what Wredd was trying to do to The One Sith? A different character doing a similar thing for a different reason, it's in line with some other things they've appeared to have changed around from Legacy.

I think so, but I felt Wredd was trying to break the One Sith like they did with him. He was a "homicidal" Sith who wanted to rule the galaxy with the destruction of the One Sith and any others that opposed him.

It is similar yes but Wredd had already left the order so it was not from within. My speculation was that Kylo might be trying to do that from within, or starting a war with the good guys on purpose to destroy the first order.

M favorite part of Legacy was the ancient Sith who sometimes showed up. I loved XoXaan and Andeddu, although I think that the Jedi Exiles should have been from 25,000 BBY, not 7000 BBY.

I found a character in Legacy #23 That has a mask and an armor very similar to Kylo Ren I just wanted to share it with you guys

    Captura de pantalla 2015-07-14 a las 22.37.57.png

Actually this character "Aslyn" later in Legacy #35 gets seriously ill and the only way of keeping her alive is thru this armor because she breath from the mask just as Vader does. Actually Vader is mentioned a lot in the issue and they even say "we hope we don't create another Vader".

First the mask is like Kylo Ren's, now it also has connections with Vader... Just like the Kylo Ren's rumors about many people thinking he is Vader or that he embodies Vader,

    Legacy #31 Vol I

I found something veery interesting that has connections with Snoke's recents rumors about he being a Snake/Reptilian. This is when Lord Wyyrlock finds Darth Kryat's remains

If someone could add something about "The Inmortal Dragon of the Sith" it would be awesome. Maybe there is some kind of explanation about Snoke here... Maybe he is worst than we can imagine.

With this post I ended reviewing Star Wars Legacy: Volume I and Star Wars Legacy: War

I enjoyed this comic book series a lot I LOVED IT. I could identify myself a lot with Cade Skywalker,,, And the end of the Story in SW Legacy War is a perfect conclusion to the story, Cade is truly a Sky Walker.

I will be revisiting Volume II soon. If there is a connection left behind I'll post it here :)

It's been over a year, and I myself have gotten back my interest for both Legacy volumes. @Aglarion, @liespana, anyone have new thoughts or what not. Maybe what was and what wasn't an influence for TFA? What could appear in VIII? I know my Sydow prediction of him being like the droid on the ship didn't pan out at all :p
