I didn't catch the Sixes/Fives mixup when I read it, probably because The Clone Wars are new to me and it just didn't register. I don't remember what part of the book that is. Is there a page number? I'll look it up.

I have a digital copy and in that its on page 199 (I don't know if the digital copy and the hard copy have the same page layout but it's at the end of chapter 13). Here's the passage I assume people are talking about...

“Thank you, my Emperor,” the captain said. He removed his helmet to reveal a mien familiar to Vader, the scarred face of a clone, the features an echo of so many faces from Vader’s past. Rex. Cody. Fives. Echo. The roster of names moved through Vader’s mind, each of them a trigger for a memory, each of them a ghost from his past.

I did a search for "Sixes" and found nothing. Nor did I catch it on my read through of he book. But Fives is clearly mentioned. I pre-ordered my digital copy.

I bet the mistake was caught after the initial printing. I bet if you thumbed through a copy on a book store shelf today it would list him as "Fives". Digital copies can be altered at any time, so I bet that's the case with my copy. For ex. I own a digital copy of "Spark of Rebellion" which I purchased on Google Play back when it came out. It was the original release version. My son and I watched it the other day and I noticed that it was now the version with the added Vader scene that aired later on ABC. So my point is if they can update and alter a movie purchase, my guess is they fixed the digital copies of the book after the initial release.

Yes, that is where it is.

Which type of digital copy do you have? I have the kindle version and I just re-downloaded it and it still says "sixes."

If you happen to be reading on a recently-released copy, it is likely the mistakes were corrected.

I realise that digging a 6 month old thread is probably not the best first post to make on a forum, but this was literally the reason I signed up here. Thank you guys for proving I'm not insane. I read 'Lords of the Sith', was frustrated by all the errors, and assumed it was badly received. Started working on a review of it, only to find pretty much every other review is positive, with this thread and a reddit post being the only two negative comments on it I could locate!

There is also another minor continuity error in the novel not mentioned in this thread, found on page 241 in which Vader ignites his lightsaber twice without ever having deactivated it.

Many of the Star Wars novels seem to have minor errors, but this one was the first in which it became so distracting and commonplace that I actually considered not finishing the novel.

I want to read Lord of the Sith but new books that I want to read are keep coming out. I guess I'm gonna read it while I read Empire's End, at the same time. Reading Catalyst its so good.

Catalyst is fantastic, and if you're enjoying that definitely check out 'Tarkin' (same author, and you can probably tell he really understands the character from his portrayal in Catalyst). Others on the very recommended list from me would be 'Lost Stars' (my favorite of the new canon so far) and 'Twilight Company'.

I'm a bit behind with my reading, but Lords of the Sith remains my least favorite of the canon novels so far. Kemp completely misfired on his characterization of Darth Vader, and it pretty much breaks the book as far as I'm concerned; in addition to it not living up to its self-made expectations of providing insight into the Sith.

But we're in the minority. In my opinion, this novel will be the catalyst for disappointment in most Darth Vader movie depictions to come (if there are any more). We've already seen it happen in Rogue One.

But the careless errors in this book were really inexcusable.

I was personally able to move past the errors (still frustrated about them) only because I am a die-hard and consume every bit of the lore I can. I am pretty sure most of the issues were corrected in future editions (at least in the electronic versions, if someone can confirm?). That being said: I do not want to be your editor. Carelessness like that does pull me out of the story.

I just listened to the Audible Audiobook and the Sixes/Fives error has been fixed but I definitely noticed the Royal guard getting vaporized and right after the battle he was fine... I've never seen a glaring continuity error in a book like this before. Definitely took me aback and added to my mounting frustration with the novel.
