    impressive and a little bit like the style of steve yedlin who will work for ep8.
    have you seen Tak Fujimoto's works ? ferris bueller's day off, silence of the lambs and briefly on a new hope i think.

    I'll confess much ignorance on this topic, but it's my hope the shot composition is less cluttered this time. Lucas loved useless clutter in the prequels and seemed obsessed with scale. Like the entire trilogy was just George experimenting just how far CGI could go, as if he was testing its limits.

    I'm curious if we'll get those very basic lines and pointers that JJ is famous for?

    Great contributions to this thread, my apologies that someone who knows nothing about the topic felt compelled to contribute to it anyway. :)

    While there are other DP's that I like more, I do like that Abrams brought on Midel. It shows me that Abrams is pulling together people who he has a good track record with so that he can make his vision for this movie come to life the way he wants it to. Midel will get the shots that JJ has in his head, no doubt.

    Side note - Episode VIII is pairing Rian Johnson with Steve Yeldin, too. Very optimistic about this as well.
