He stated in plain English, right at the end of the article:

    http://makingstarwars.net/2014/10/huge-rumor-star-wars-episode-viis-father-sized-moment/

Does that sound like a fact to you?

I think the problem with Making Star Wars is that these hugely speculative one-man's thoughts get taken as "news". The Luke as cyborg thing gained almost all it's momentum (and movement to mainstream news sites as "news") by the MSW post. That sort of thing is more fitting for a forum such as this one.

I also see a bit of self-serving in these speculative posts (MSW is after all an advertisement supported site. They are making money on their traffic) - so the more traffic and buzz they can generate the more they'll make.

This is the reason I created the other thread: http://thecantina.starwars7news.com/index.php?threads/im-tired-of-msw-concept-art-descriptions.398/ that has become locked now.

I like the MSW site and the news he puts up - but I feel these telephone-game descriptions of mysterious artwork are a bit circumspect. If there's artwork out there - let us analyze it ourselves. Anyone can say anything when they're describing something - and one viewer giving his description can be incredibly wrong when art is described from a single source like this.

MOD (tomvoxx): Please do not double post. Go back and edit your last one.

I'd wager MSW is seeing significantly more hits than they ever have before. They aren't doing anything wrong necessarily, but they are definitely milking what really comes to a moderately sized concept art leak that hasn't even been verified as authentic into two weeks of increased traffic.

I, like you, initially enjoyed the descriptions but it is getting a bit tiresome. From the sound of the last few, even MSW isn't convinced they are real...just passing along pictures that were given to them. I could draw a picture of C3PO with a red light saber, send it to them, and it would end up on these forums being discussed as a real possibility that C3P0 is the villain of the trilogy.

Its fun to speculate, and fun to see possible leaks. But its been a while since we have actually seen anything besides these descriptions that may or may not even be real.

As I said in another thread - I trust Jason. But I know from a source that I trust unquestioningly that Luke is not a cyborg in Episode VII. And I trust that 100%. So there's always a chance that Jason is misinterpreting what he saw. Or that it's an old concept.

Jason went back and said that the samurai style armor sounded like Darth Bane in The Clone Wars.

That part confused me. I wasn't sure if he was talking about the original image, or another one.

Yeah: I'm one of the ones who does not believe Luke is a cyborg, nor the villain.

But that just means that I disagree with Jason's conclusions, not that I think he's trying to be deceptive. He's stated very clearly and repeatedly that the assumptions he's drawing from concept art are purely speculative.

I don't understand why he's getting so much hate over that. Why can't people just disbelieve and move on?

I keep getting a theme of let's hate on MSW. Let's all put this in perspective, we are here to speculate and entertain rumors. Right now he is what we are getting. He is not lying to anyone, he even disclaims that the stuff he has seen may not be real. Some of you guys act like he is Supershadow but he has been pretty clear to not make leaps. And until we know for sure on December 18, 2015, it is all just rumors. Nobody from LFL is going to confirms any of this stuff. If his rumors bother you so much, here is something don't go to his site and read it.

There is only 1 source for official Star Wars news, Starwars.com if you are anywhere except there you are just getting rumors. Jason Ward doesn't act like he knows for sure. Why do I know this? I listen to his show. There is a lot of guys on this site looking for rumors and are pushed off because Jason Ward saw concept are and decided to describe what he saw. Stop being so damn foolish. Everything he saw may absolutely be from that set or it may be fake. He never embellishes that he knows for a fact. However when he got word about "possible inquisitors" Eric Gellar claimed that he in fact debunked Jason Ward with out any source or information to back up his claim and you all were quiet.

    Apparently we only half read.

What if Luke goes bad "from a certain point of view"? This trilogy is supposed to be less black and white with good and evil. The Grey area of the force, so to speak. So in Act one we are left thinking Luke has fallen. But by Act 2 and 3 it's all for the greater good of the galaxy to aide our new Skywalker hero/ine's journey. That's the part I want to know...PT are the adventures of Anakain Skywalker, OT are the adventures of Luke Skywalker, so now the ST has to be the adventures of *blank* Skywalker doesn't it?

it logically should be a 3rd Skywalker but it does't seem like there will be based on rumors.

I thought that I should bump this thread since people may have new ideas given the recent speculation. Mods, please let me know if it is too soon to do this.

I'd say no they didn't also... the contractually obligated beard... I always read that as a typical Mark Hamill quip as opposed to a "its in my contract" maybe I'm wrong on that.
