Did Luke Burn Only Vader's Suit and Helmet?

Meh...plenty of explanations for it.

Likely the funeral pyre was just his suit (canonically speaking, hard to say that in original context).

Lucas did tend to wing it from time to time.

 

I agree with this. I have not read books, only seen movies and Luke took the whole Vader to the shuttle. He was heavy and the death star was ready to explode. Luke would not have risked that over empty armor.

Since Luke had to carry the whole body that means he did not force disappear. Later his father appeared with Yoda and Obiwan instead of by himself, because he needed thier help to return to Luke that way. Just IMO.

 

Strange what I remember. Just watched it again with my daughter and Vader is alive still all the way to the hanger bay. I still think whole body burnt though. Dec 2015 tick tock

 

I believe that his body still remained. Other wise it would have dissipated when he died like Yoda's and Obi-Wans but you never see this happen. I always thought that as a kid too that Yoda had just brought his ghost for Luke to see. I mean what would be the point of being good if you could reap the same rewards being evil.

 

I believe it left his suit when he died on the death star.

 

Yep I read that link but was concerned about believing it since Yoda's passing on Dagobah.

 

I think his other suit was at Galactic Cleaning & Tailoring and it blew up when the Death Star was destroyed-"No tickee, no shirtee"
