Yoda always thought training Anakin was a bad idea. He never trusted him.

Did he knew he was a traitor all along and accepted the will of the Force like Jesus knew about Judas because it was their fate ?

Anakin wasn't the source of Yoda's distrust (Yoda knew nothing about Anakin except what Qui-Gon told him when he brought the kid to the Temple), it was the Jedi beliefs that were already failing. Anakin was 'too old', etc.

He couldn't know the truth about Anakin because Jedi vision was already clouded by the Dark Side. Besides, in his own words: "Always in motion the future is."

I always had the thought that Jedi were a perfect example of "self-fulfilling prophesy", by labeling Anakin as Chosen One and, not just always doubting him, but never providing him with any meaningful support - when Anakin comes to Yoda for answers, he gets only dogmatic, run-of-the-mill answers.

Or maybe he knew and he never told the others because it was acceptance and himself had to let go about the Jedi order ?

Many people act like Anakin here with the Jedi order always accusing other people of Anakin's mistake, he was too passionate, when he saw Padme in pain and dying, he never realized HE was the pain of Padme, he searched meanings to save her which is ironical because the only way he could have save Padme was to change himself and that's a choice he didn't even think once. Too much proud, too much passionate, too much out of the present.

Oh, don't get me wrong, the final decision to turn is always on the person who turns - no one can make you turn to the Dark Side. I'm just saying that there were many other factors that didn't help the situation, one of which were the Jedi.

Yoda would never let thousands of people die even if he accepted the fall of the Order on itself. If he knew Anakin would definitely turn, he would not just said something - he would do something.

Yoda only had concerns about Anakin during their first meeting when he sensed fear in him, they may have resurfaced again in TROTS when he spoke about Padme though not named in his vision of her child birth death.

I always thought that Yoda couldn't sense Anakin because Palpatine was always around and was clouding the jedi.

I might be mistaken on this next statement, if so please correct: In the book Tarkin it is revealed that the Jedi Temple was built on a SIth Shrine and there was dark forces still around. Palpatine used this power to help cloud the jedi about Anakin. <----last part is my opinion.

Yes, the information on the shrine in Tarkin is based off an uncompleted episode of TCW. In the episode, it is revealed that the Jedi Temple was built on top of a Sith equivalent in an attempt to "squash" the dark energies that remained. This was the case for centuries until Palpatine came along started using it to increase his power. As a result, the Jedi's ability to use the force in their temple diminished over time.

While Yoda never knew, he never truly trusted Anakin either. In each film he voices his concerns about Anakin. Remember, it's these very concerns that lead him to assigning Anakin an apprentice. He hopes that this will teach him to let go and master his emotions.

I just saw TPM again and Yoda DOES seem to be suspicious of Anakin from the moment he lays his eyes on him .

I wouldn't say Yoda knew he was a traitor, but he 100% sensed the disturbance within young Skywalker!
The will of the force and all that but if Yoda knew Anakin would end up destroying the Jedi, Yoda would not have let that happen, but I would say he might have brushed the sense off to maybe Anakins age or just natural connection to the force.

Just like in EPII, when Sidious begins talking to Padme about the attempt on her life, Yoda shoots him a look and the look isn't "I know you're the Sith Lord" it's more of a "I can feel a disturbance" look and you can tell Yoda doesn't trust him.... Same thing I feel.

That might be why he gave Ashoka to Anakin, because it would give him some perspective in the way he would handle himself in the hopes staying on the right path since, as you said, yoda was always a bit suspicious but he seems like that type of person who'd give someone like anakin the benefit of the doubt..

Nail on the head man! Exactly, I truly think that would have been a massive reason, to give Anakin that connection to what it looks like to be respected and valued in the Order and in the eyes of an apprentice! I have always said it and tell me if you disagree, I think Anakin would have kept to the light if Mace or Jinn trained him, they're both the closest to "Light side Grey Jedi" in the movies, he would have really have dealt with the conflicting emotions a lot better. I feel anyways.

I'd say more Jinn than Windu but, regardless, they both would have radicalized him greatly. Obi-Wan was a nice guy but he was also extremely strict in his teachings, and that's maybe because of what happened on Naboo. I think, at least part of me, that if he had been trained by Dooku if the count had never turned to the dark side, he might have been better off (Dooku turned after Qui-Gon died).

Oh could you imagine that man! When Jinn died, Kenobi asked Dooku to train Anakin! *Nerd squeal*, That would have made for something truly epic, potentially saving both Dooku and Anakin! I guess these are the painful thoughts of being a Star Wars fan, so many possible outcomes haha! But the death of Jinn, really set the foot note for Anakin in a situation where he wasn't Kenobi's first Padawan choice.

I don't think both of them would have turned and life would have simply moved on if maul had died and qui-gon was the one to kill him. Qui-Gon would have continued to train obi-wan while dooku would have trained anakin. Yoda trained dooku who trained jinn who trained kenobi so he wouldnt have a need to worry in the slightest and kenobi and anakin would have formed a much deeper bond in my opinion.

unfortunately, we know what truly happened.

I think that, if Yoda had taken a personal interest in anakin, things MAAAYY have been a tad better.

Yeah for sure, your comment reminds me of Yodas vision in TCW, near the end!
God all the feels at this scene for sure.
But you're so correct, Anakin and Kenobi would have grown up as closer to equals,
rather than Anakin feeling that need to compete with him as almost a big brother figure.
Dooku, Anakin, Qui Gon and Kenobi, now that's a brotherhood of powerful Jedi!

Yeah Yoda could have helped for sure! Or Anakin was always destined by design to turn.

It was Yoda being afraid of Anakin as an unknown factor. If Yoda really was that astute in spotting a future Sith Lord, he would have been leery of Dooku, while training the latter.

Was this confirmed in "The Clones War"? If not, in which EU novel was this confirmed? And wasn't Qui-Gon determined to train Anakin on his own, whether he would have lived or not?
