Did you ever wish there is another Darth Maul around???

I don't. There was only one Darth Vader. I don't like the idea of Lucas or anyone else repeating themselves. I find that boring and unoriginal. Nor do I like the idea of putting a character on pedestal, because he or she is "cool". I find that shallow.

 

We don't need to wish, we know he's still knocking about.

 

But don't you find it just a little odd that you don't want to see another character like Darth Maul cause it would be more of the same but you are interested in Kylo Ren who is just a bad copy/paste of Vader?

Speaking of which, why on Earth would Sidious spare Maul after he was done with him? I truly do not understand that.

 

Because he saw potential in him before & he has again, that fact that he was declared dead in TPM & traces of him was destroyed sometimes made Sidious think that Maul had a use but to what end we are yet to know, the rebels series would be a good place to put him back in the game

 

Perhaps he'll become that silent assassin again... Now that'd be a good way to use him...

 

Yes but I wonder how Sidious would contain his rage for killing Savage Opress, if Maul overcame death against Obi wan I wonder how Sidious contain his rage.

 

Well, Maul would have to become more powerful than Sidious in order to do anything of significance, and every time Sidious senses that he's getting poweful, I'd imagine that he'd beat him into submission again.

 

Interesting, if you had Maul at your command what would you do?

 

I'd have him kill rebel leaders, rivals, Jedi, or anyone else who would undermine my power.

 

Easy move, I would have him find sith artefacts & just seek out traitor senators,

 

Finding Sith artifacts might actually make him more powerful (depends on the artifact) so I wouldn't let him do that.

 

I would, with that power I would like to see Sidious tested for once.

 

I would too, but we have to look at this from Sidious' perspective, unfortunately.

 

I'm sure not how far Sidious's perspective went, he killed most of the jedi, retired the clone army, he's sitting on his grand throne on a spire looking over Coruscant & now has a dathomir problem to solve.

 

It's not a copy/paste of Vader at all. Vader was a great hero way before becoming bad. His scars made him more machine than man. Non of this happened to Kylo Ren, who's a snob, a wannabe. He wants to be Vader and he's not at all. Anakin wanted to save his mother more than anything, while Kylo is ready to kill his father.

 

Darth Maul is my favorite Star Wars characters (right next to Ahsoka Tano). He has a decent backstory (even though his history wasn't developed until after TPM). Ray Park portrayed him very well and I appreciate the fact that the casting team chose a talented martial artist to fill the roll. I never fully understood why he was only originally present in Episode I considering how well received he was. Maul was a very promising character from the get-go and his departure after the first film seemed wasteful.

I'm glad that he's come back in television, books and comics, but I wouldn't wish to see him replaced. That was sort-of done already in The Clone Wars animated series. I would definitely be interested to see more of Dathomir, Iridonia or the Zabrak race.

 

Agreed I still get goosebumps everytime he ignites that lightsaber when he is about to square off against Qui-gon & Obi Wan & then he appears before his brother in a cave.

 

I wish he was never killed off in TPM. He should of stayed alive till ROTS. To introduce a character so unique and then have him killed after just a few moments of screen time was a major gripe of mine.
