Do any of you feel weird playing realistic military shooters like Battlefield and Call of Duty now because of the invasions and wars? I haven't liked COD in a while but been seeing ads for the new game and players getting hypedand it feels weird right now and especially there they feature the middle east and Russia.

Not about being politically correct but it just feesl weird to me and so I skip past Battlefield games now when I see them on gamepass.

Same with GTA fun because of mass shootings and deadly chases

But watching Star WARS is a okay. Just a little poke. That being said, they're just pixels. As with any fiction they're not real.

Nope, not at all. I've been playing shooters since they were introduced with Wolfenstein. I just got the new COD and it's just a game.

I hope it's just a joking poke. Big difference between science fiction and space stuff with pew pews than realistic enough games about real world militaries and locations along with real guns

    I think that's reasonable.

There's also the fact that stuff like COD absolutely is used as military propaganda. Heck, I remember when I was a senior in high school, a lot of my COD buddies enlisted after graduation simply because they liked the game.

Personally, that's not why I don't play. I feel I'm probably disillusioned enough to not be too badly affected by this type of propaganda at this point. I just... enjoy better games. Even going back to the old MW2 for instance... it just doesn't hold up. It's fun to revisit it for an hour or so every once and a while, but at some point I just got bored of the genre.

So, even non-realistic shooters like Valorant, Overwatch, and even the newish Battlefronts don't really do it for me. More power to ya if you like them, just not my thing anymore.

It's been a while since I played any kind of military shooter. The realistic ones at least, I have played things like Doom and Halo in recent years but you're killing cartoonish demons and aliens in those. I do play GTA Online some though but I don't really have a problem with it as I lead a pretty tame existence in it. I mean I've committed tons of crimes and I've killed lots of people in it but they were mostly trying to kill me and were criminals of some sort. Even when citizens become part of the collateral damage it's not really upsetting or anything as it's an imaginary morally bankrupt society where everybody is the worst and there are no children.
