Ezra is a Luke Skywalker wanna be in my opinion. I wish there was no Jedi at all in Rebels.

I get annoyed at times with him.I do not fancy him as being a favourite character of mine.

I share the opinion at times Ezra is an annoying character, in taking a path similar to Luke in a way, but what i have a problem with is how Erza seems to be surpassing his master? Granted, we know that Kannan is and was a Padawan at the time of Order 66, but he has grown as a person so is he really a Master even though he follows the Order that no longer exist? Kannan seems much weaker in terms of his abilities vs. Erza, he even said it to Yoda in the cave where Erza received his crystal for his saber.

I'm a bit more cynical on this one. Ezra, from the start, seemed to me to be Disney mandated to pander to their intended viewership: children.

However, that doesn't mean that Rebels was a bust to begin with. I think it's quite the opposite. Rebels is a great show, and at this point I tend to be more excited about it than TFA.

Rather than dwelling on the fact that I, an adult, don't have much connection with Ezra, I do tend to relate a lot more with Kanan and Hera. And now that Filloni has promised a more ensemble approach I think that more and more people are going to realize that there is something in Rebels for everyone.

I have to agree, i am far more interesting and excited to be watching Rebels than i am TFA and i don't know why but it is very compelling story and background of it i guess. I was not to into the Clone Wars, but Rebels for some reason really pulled me in.

I think that is a great point you bring up in regards to Rebels, Fillloni states that Rebels has a little of everything in it for everyone and i think that is what draws me in, but at the sometime iam watching it because of my 10yr old loves Starwars and this is kinda of his first introduction to it as he doesn't per se understand how the other movies all fit in. Ive tried to explain it, but he just goes with it.

Yes, i can relate to Kanan more than i can Erza and see my son love Erza. So, i know what you mean.

Sorry, you also posted on my birthday, but I'm going to respond on a lot of levels, based on the date you've seen the difference but also I'm frustrated. Yes I originally viewed Ezra as a scrappy older version of Anikan from episode one, I think your view has been modified since then, I'm not saying, heck Sarah Michelle g, might make me fall to dark side. There's going to be a Jedi who goes dark, then redeemed. There's also going to be one who isn't, wether dark or killed in the series.

I think he's cute. I do wonder however whether his hair is actually meant to be blue or if he's supposed to have black hair that looks blue. He was described as having "black hair" in the Servants of the Empire books and it threw me.

I don't hate him but I don't find him or the ghost crew that interesting. He is the least interesting but the gets the focus and is the central character unfortunately. I wish he didn't look like Aladdin so much either. I like how the TCW wasn't so focused on one character but couple of characters and arcs. I liked that we got to see world building in the SW universe. Here we just follow this crew and not much story development happens each episode.

I'm just waiting for the Ahsoka focused episodes to be honest.

I have a fifteen year old brother and half the time I want to slap Ezra for being a teenager.
But I really am looking forward to his developement. And when he isn't being a teenager, Ezra is really just a lonely, endearing boy who loves his family just a bit too much.

As for his abilities... do not take Kanan's words for this. When he talked to Yoda Kanan's self-doubt was very much clouding his judgement.
Ezra is NOT surpassing him. Yes, he has a lot raw power, but half of that is emotion driven and I think as Ezra levels out those power surges will level out as well.

Kanan is much better than he thinks, but with his history it's only understandable that he doubts himself.

I'd like to watch him turn into a powerful dual-side force user (there is another?) who returns in the ST (Del Toro) as a powerful but conflicted or dark force user.

"Ezra" doesn't sound too "Starwars-y" for me, it sounds to "Earth-Like" for my tastes .

I think he's great when he takes control of the situation heal is in. I really like him in episodes like stealth strike. I personally predict we are either gonna see Kanan die or fall to the dark side in the later half of season 2. Leaving the third season for Ezra to be the stone cold Jedi we've seen glimmers of in earlier episodes kind of like Luke in return.

I don't dislike him on paper, as a narrative character. But I don't find him as a person all that interesting. Part of me wishes Sabine was the one in the Ezra slot.

He is not a straight forward character,he has conflict but also at times shows his resilent side.

I do like Ezra. I like the Rebels saga. leading right before ANH. I think they would have to end them when the series ends. Kanan isnt a Jedi and if he is then he would die due to the fact that Luke is the last Jedi. I can see them putting Ezra or Kanan into one of the anthology films.

May the force be with you always...

I like kanan though. His story starts from Episode III so with the comics and Rebels. basically he's the only one(besides Yoda,Obi. that i know) we know what survived Order 66. I wanna see how they play him out. I hope he dies for cause of ANH.
