I hope that there will be a "third" side. Something completely new!

The major question of this thread is to seek the relationship between light/Jedi and dark/Sith.

The force exists in light, gray, and dark. Think id, ego, superego sort of deal.

The Jedi and the Sith are religious orders who over time have clung to a specific aspect of the force but are not exclusive to that aspect.

The Jedi originally sought to follow the will of the Force and live the life of a peaceful monk, over time they basically became servants of the Republic, letting the Sith cloud the force and relying on their instincts as Jedi instead of what the Force wanted. There were Jedi who were closely attuned to the emotion of the dark side (Mace Windu, Quinlan Vos, Anakin Skywalker, etc). But as Jedi they never tried to actually bend the force their desires.

The Sith sought mastery over life by bending the Force and using it as a tool. They ignored the will of the Force, caring only for their own will and desire. Their attunement to their emotions drew them to the seductive power of the dark side, but their philosophy could still be light side attuned as discussed earlier. There are no light side examples in canon, but Revan is a decent example of a well-intentioned Sith

I'm still not convinced on this point - isn't it possible that Anakin could have possibly been created by the Force to balance out the over-abundance of Jedi? I'm sure that the Force is less short-sighted than to just see good little Ani and say, "aww, bless, he's such a good boy." I think it's more likely that it can see the entirety of Anakin's timeline and thought, "yeah, there are hundreds, if not thousands of Jedi milling about the place, making it look untidy. It's completely out of balance, and far too complicated to create loads of Dark Jedi at the same time and weave all their stories into one sprawling epic. Let's just make one supreme bad guy and have his badassdom weigh in equal to all the Jedi."

Agreed, Mace knew only too well that he had no right whatsoever to attempt to execute Palpatine there and then, but think about it - what was the alternative, really? He was absolutely right - he owned the Senate, he owned the courts. If it went to a trial, he'd be acquitted and worst case scenario, he'd just be a little behind schedule with his nefarious plans. So summary execution was the only real option open to him, and fair play to him, too, for making such a wise and educated snap decision. Obviously murder is still murder, but it's a case of sacrificing one life for the sake of saving millions. I'm not really sure what alternative he actually had.

I'm surprised to see that they're even bothering with Mo-Cap puppets at all, particularly after watching this.

You really need to get yourself a copy of Book of Sith by Daniel Wallace. It explains more or less everything about the Sith. And if you're feeling a bit wealthy, you can treat yourself to the Vault Edition version, which comes with a Sith holocron!
