There's another pic leaked with the Gleeson and chrome trooper characters looking at a hologram. It looks like they looking at a character similar to the cyborg we saw holding vaders helmet.

 

Can anyone make out a reflection off the MF console to see whats reflecting off it from the outside?

Yeah I think Mon Mothma is possibly deceased in Ep. 7. I'm not sure about the life span of Mon Calamari or Sullustans, but I'm gonna guess it's longer than that of humans.

Some were saying that Ackbar doesn't look much older. If you look at the gills, I think you can see the aging. Let's be honest, it's not easy to make a fish (crustacean?) look older. It's not like he's gonna sprout gray whiskers. I loved the comment about Nunb rocking the same attire. He reminds me of a friend from high school who had a jacket he loved and never stopped wearing it.

As for MSW, it's nice for fans to get so many new images ... but it wasn't a tag team effort. It's clear that Ward doesn't like any Star Wars attention directed anywhere but his site. Nice for us to get new content to speculate on, but a pretty childish attempt at one-upsmanship. Is the motivation to share the love of Star Wars with each other or stroke an ego?

 

any chance simon pegg is playing admiral ackbar? it would be a great way for him to be in the movie without being in the movie

 

I think according to King3000 he is playing a character in the cantina who gets his arms ripped off by Chewie

 

If there was no embargo lifted and the sources are just telling you guys to go ahead and post the pictures to your sites (MSW says the sources "encouraged" them to post the pictures), it makes me think these people sending you stuff are not really "leakers" but instead people hired by the production to conduct a guerilla marketing campaign on the internet.

I'm really starting to think none of the things we've seen so far have actually been "leaks." I have a feeling the production is using Jason's site, this site, and a few other sites (e.g., Indie Revolver) for viral marketing. Why are all these people putting their livelihoods on the line with no expectations of getting anything in return to show you all this stuff over such a long period of time? Are they crazy? Or were they hired just to "leak" stuff to fan sites? This new development concerning how nonchalant these sources were about the idea of broadcasting these stills out onto the internet makes me very suspicious.

 

Is it just me or does every alien in star wars live for a REALLY LONG time?

 

I might be late to the party but in the pic with The General I noticed another face below the chrome trooper. A deformed almost cybernetic one like Vader without the mask. Is it Smoke? Also you see Finn in the background.

The face you see, I believe, is Finn's. It's like they're looking up his profile in the employee database. Many people think that, in addition to that, they're watching a hologram or surveillance video of him. It's really hard to tell for sure, though.

 

It's interesting that you pointed that out. I noticed that face too, although I can't be sure exactly what it's meant to represent. To me it looks like a CGI wire-frame model of John Boyega's head. Perhaps the computer is displaying some kind of dossier on Finn and that wire-frame head is the image of him they have on file.

EDIT: Jmjawors beat me to it. It must be Finn's head because we both came to that conclusion independently of one another.

And I don't know about everybody else, but I was appalled at the sheer quantity of bile pouring out in the comments section of the SW7N article about Grunberg's weight! F**k me, so the guy's got a stocky build - so what? No-one's asking him to walk around in the movie shirtless and oiled-up, so what's the issue? He actually happens to be a damn fine actor, and I, for one, am really looking forward to seeing what "Matto Packuman" can pull off in the SW universe!

I'm sure Viral will tell you himself, he doesn't just sit at home waiting for an email to drop in from someone he doesn't know or trust.
"Oh wow - someone kindly sent me some pictures from the new Star Wars movie. I'll start a website..."
I don't know why people have this ongoing vision of the "anonymous leaker". He doesn't exist. Or if he does, his stuff gets treated with extreme caution.
They are real people, in real jobs which happen to be in some way linked to a movie production. Say your best friend's uncle happens to be a carpenter who landed a job building some of the sets. Your neighbour's sister knows one of the cleaners at Pinewood.
Maybe you've got a connection to someone even higher up the food chain, who knows - the point it, that is how these things start.
Can you get a phone in? Do you think you can sneak some photos? I know someone who is good with web stuff we can handle this stuff properly...
There's always got to be a chain of trust in place.

Don't know - but they do it every time. They did it for TPM, AOTC and ROTS and countless other films since the dawn of the internet. It's just a fact. It happens. There are thousands of people working directly on these productions, and probably thousands more who may come into contact with the production through their employment.

Well, from my experience, the leakers have been more cautious than they have on the previous films if anything.
The way I remember it, the atmosphere around the TPM and early AOTC days was that AICN was the only site that really did this kind of thing - people had access to stuff and didn't perhaps realise that there was a massive audience out there for this stuff via the internet. I believe certain people had pretty much the enitire AOTC script and it was just being passed around privately between a handful of people on a small members-only message board, before sites started cropping up to specifically deal with this kind of material.
By the time ROTS came around it was a big deal this whole spoiler business. It's actually been relatively quiet this time around.

 

I remember a time around ROTS were at least one high res image of the film was leaked every week. It was crazy! I too get the feeling that we know far less than what we did back then.
