    Well yes and no because Kylo had. A personal vendetta against Finn. Rey, on the other hand, was "some farm girl" that Kylo didn't care that much about but kept growing on him .

    i would say so ~ and add onto it that Finn had just wounded him (again) and he'd wasted energy putting Finn down.

    there's also the extra baggage of the fact that he doesn't actually want to kill Rey, so she's already got the upper hand in that regard (she thinks she's fighting for her life).

    Kylo Ren lost the fight before it even started. he was physically and mentally a mess from the get-go.

    Yeah, he was actually instructed to bring her back to Snoke, so I agree, he was not there to kill her. Finn? Another story.

    There's a deleted scene where snoke instructs kylo to "play with finn" and to "let him" hit him with the lightsaber
