RUMOR General Star Wars: The Force Awakens News & Rumors Thread

SPECULATION: Craig plays Beyega's partner in crime during their heist of the Sith artefact from a Star Destroyer at the opening of the movie. Craig is critically injured during their escape and dies in Boyega's arms after telling him to seek out contacts on the desert planet below. Craig's brief appearance and sudden demise in the opening sequence foreshadows JJ's intention that we should not assume big-name actors will play significant roles, creating tension around the fate of the OT big three. Boyega's escape with instructions from Craig will mirror '3PO/R2's similar escape from a SD in ANH. This theory will transpire to be wrong....

 

Hey, even if it's not true, it's a cool idea! Craig just has the cool badass look, so any scene with his helmet off would be cool, but only if minor

 

I hope he says two words to another stormtrooper before getting cut down unceremoniously by Boyega (using Luke's lightsaber), who's trying to high tail it off the Star Destroyer they're on.

 

Would those two words be "what" and "the"?

He's not a full Jedi wussy just yet... and that's why we'll like him.

 

Ya he said awhile back him and a couple other Bond people got to be stormtroopers. He said you don't see his face though

 

But they'd be silly not to have him voice a throwaway line of banter with another stormtrooper. Give us something! (For the record, I'm not a big fan... Craig literally plays one thing... always... and seems bereft of some of the qualities that make a star... namely charisma; his Bond is insufferable and outside of a few action pieces, the films are veritable snoozefests. You are not Jason Bourne, you are James Bond. The films should reflect as such.)

Exactly... but even that he could hardly say with the appropriate 007 swag. So maybe through the helmet.

 

Trooper 1 will say: "What was that?"
Craig (Trooper 2) will say: "Ahhh It's nothing. I'm gastric. Don't worry about it."

 

Maybe he'll have 007 on the back of his armour instead of 011? Blink and you'll miss it....

 

Hey I was digging through 4chan (I know, hehe) and I found this rumor dump from September. I know, take it with a huge grain of salt, but I still found it fun to read through it. The crack fiend in me pretended it was real...but some stuff did pique my interest. See below the quote for my thoughts.

1. Has anyone seen any mention of a mega crystal? If the floating hand w/ lightsaber opening is indeed real, the opening preps us (invites us) to think about the connection between lightsabers and force users and the uber crystal. (I just said that naturally without thinking. Uber crystal...is Serkis?)

2. So up to now, I just assumed the rebels were funding themselves in the Sequel Trilogy. But as in real life, of course, there are still political idealists funding everyone, and the Rebellion is no exception. It does make sense. If Driver is indeed closely tied in with these political idealists, it makes sense that he climbed the ranks to X-Wing leader and has extra say in major decisions. And, it opens up the Rebellion to corruption. Ouch.

3. Max von Sydow! This rumor gives him a special power, rather than just "some old robot taking care of Kira". No, he is a huge asset because not only can he find force sensitives, he is the "first villain", along with the pirates, whom we hear almost nothing about except for their "Pirates Cove". This could be Act I and II -- finding Sydow. When the heroes accidentally kill Max von Sydow, he will say, "You killed the wrong person. I know where Luke is, seek him out to find the truth". Bam, Act III and all heck breaks loose. Buckle your seatbelts.

4. Luke "sacrifices himself". Ok, I know, I don't think he will die...but let me ask -- did you ever feel like Ben died after watching A New Hope? Hearing his reassuring voice after his body ghosted made me feel alright immediately. So I will venture to say -- if Luke indeed does absorb all the dark force energy, let me say that we will hear his voice again before the end of TFA to reassure us that he will be back as a ghost for many more flicks to come.

Ok, I know I'm forcing it a bit...but this is what I do when they don't release new stuff every week, heh. Have fun with this!

They have Captain Phasma... I daresay Thrawn is not out of the question at this point... the only problem with Thrawn, being such a well known character, is that there would be the massive confusion of what in the EU is being brought over

 

Make an animated series post VI with elements of heir to the empire, problem solved, and a happy blue we have

 

Thrawn Trilogy is gonna happen some way or another. I mean, it's literally the only reason we had Star Wars re-emerge in the 1990's, a decent PT, great TV shows, more books, the Disney purchase, and now The Force Awakens. It's only fitting the story that re-established Star Wars itself earns the same treatment.

 

I don't necessarily think you will have a film adaptation of the EU but they are Legends right meaning that a name might rise to be relevant. He doesn't need to have a bigger role than Needa or the other Imperial officers we have seen force choked. For the price3 of red contacts and blue laytex they can cameo one of the most compelling characters.
