To be fair, the maximum age concept was introduced in ESB. And we've already seen the image of Luke, it looks as if he's wearing similar-looking Tatooine-esque garb

SW7N posted it a while back, but it's since been taken down. Not sure where you can find it now honestly.

Introduced, then immediately ignored when Yoda decided to train him anyway.

Consensus seems to be that it's real. It's been said it was requested for a takedown on this site which released the image. It does totally look like what a fanboy would dress him up in, doesn't it.

While I like some of what KK is doing for the strong woman roles on her staff and in the future movies and other creative projects. I think that KK needs to be very careful that she doesn't push that agenda too far.

Edit: I got dislikes? I'm not sure what there is about my post to dislike.

Interesting. Let us hope that "feels" are from the emotional content of the story rather than pure nostalgia.

Hopefully, the dislikes aren't because of the women aspect of your post. I understand about potentially having too many women on the staff, but it's like saying there's too many guys. If there's a tasteful balance due to necessity, then GREAT! But not women for the sake of having women, same as having men for the sake of having men. I don't understand why it's such a big deal regardless. Equality is equality, mainly when it makes sense and not pushed. In fact, it shouldn't be a huge issue, regardless, and it is a huge issue for people making it a huge issue for women. And we should all be equal.

.........sorry for that rant. Sometimes I go on tangents and lose my train of thought -_-

There's way too many men in front and behind the camera in the entertainment industry, out of proportion with actual demographics. And they get paid more than women in general. I don't think I need to bring up how bad Star Wars has historically been when it comes to female characters (BUT I WILL ANYWAY). Leia was a third wheel, practically Han Solo's second sidekick with Chewbacca. And Padme was just there to get Anakin's sperm and be a baby factory that dies to set up the original trilogy. And every other major character was male. So they have a long god damn way to go to make up for the sins of the past.

Right. My opinion will always be hire the best person for the job. Doesn't matter their race, religion, or sex. If they can do the job well then hire them.

You also have to take into account screen time. As history goes, Luke is a male and his best friend is a male. Character and story wise, at its core, Star Wars is a product of its times of the 70s. I think maybe that might be what Star Wars might be trying to compensate with. I wouldn't call it a sin, but how life used to be and society is changing and allowing for Star Wars to make up for it. Like for my last movie, as an executive producer, I hired mainly women for my production from pre-production all the way to post production at Lucasfilm Ltd. , outside of my main production group. I think that it's a way to reason that we can figure a part of the plot regarding how the 70s were to women and how 2015 is to women in Hollywood as actors. Look at Rey, Leia, Maz Kanata, Phasma, etc.
