    What's up with all the Ewok hate? Never understood that one. My nine year old self would have shaken his head in disbelief. Cynical people. Those bears kick some serious Imperial butt in episode 6.
    Now the Gungans, that's a different story ....

    I resent all this, at times pubescent, talk of Star Wars needing to be 'dark and gritty.' No it shouldn't. Really. Go on, watch Empire strikes back again. It wasn't that dark. At least not in the way we think of it now (Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight for instance). Half episode 5 had Luke acting with a cute puppet with R2 around for comical relief.

    Episode 7 shouldn't try to be harder and darker than Empire. It's as much about pulpy aliens in the Cantina or Jabba's palace, Ewoks and whatnot as it is about a father hacking his son's arm of.

    I don't mind ewoks much either. I wouldn't be mad if they didn't appear but I would be if they did either
    It's hard for me to think Endor isn't making at least a small appearance looking at the photos of Puzzlewood/Forest of Dean

    I don't hate the Ewoks... I think it was a little contrived, but I don't hate them... I just have some intel that they wont be in this movie...

    I still think that a Death Star blowing up in orbit would have some dire consequences for their forest moon ecology... not sure it would be enough to turn it into a desert, but it would make a great, "this is Ceti Alpha V" moment

    It would probably bring some unwanted travelers to Endor if nothing else. Scrappers, Junkers, and Artifact hunters. Ewoks would be more known throughout the galaxy after more people started appearing on the planet. Also, what other survivors were there after the battle and said “You know, I could make my home here”. So yeah, the place has likely changed quite a bit, but im with @TIDMADT in that this place probably wont be in the movie and that Ewoks would be a cameo at best.

    I was picturing a Raiders of the Lost Ark type moment when all of the Stormtroopers and Kylo are standing around the grave site like its the Ark of the covenant.

    The digging up of the grave could be an awesome scene.

    Small clip, it's more about Jessica Chastain's reaction to trailer, but Oscar let it out some cool tidbits, the only footage of TFA he saw at the moment was the trailer and hasn't done ADR yet.

    I believe hearing somewhere that the original intention was for the Ewoks to be Wookies. Even the name Ewok is a bastardization of Wookie. This idea was scrapped due to budget constraints

    Possibly... one of the original concepts of SW was for the Wookies to lead a raid on the Death Star... it would be odd if they cut it for budget, though... by RotJ I would think GL had more money than God...

    One of the most interesting things about this old document is that Lucas planned even some of the SE changes abck then, most notably Jabba's appearance in Episode 4, tough not as a slug initially before Episode 6.

    EDIT: the thing with the Wookies wasn't budget issue at all, the issue is that Wookies were far advanced for demonstrating a native and primitive non-human species battling the Empire.
    I was amazed how much money and creative power went into the Episode 6 thanks to this documentary.
