    I believe that Viral Hide said specifically that these are not from Episode VII, based on the word of his contact(s). If I had to guess, the MSW article on the muppet creature is related to The Dark Crystal II instead of anything based on Star Wars, as Disney has owned Jim Henson's company for much longer than they have owned Lucasfilm. In addition, the sequel to the muppet fantasy film has been in and out of production for a much longer period of time than the Sequel Trilogy has been. The newer article sounds like it would be more likely to be related Star Wars, going by the fact that Jason Ward was able to name specific species based off of appearances.

    Right... and it even mentions that the original crystal image could have been from an earlier time point... if this one is Ep VII, then I would find it hard to think the other would be DKII, unless the character looks similar but isn't...

    The image of the crystal is legit. The character is in several pieces and has been made for the film.

    Ok, first of all... if this is really one of the admins from MakingStarWars, then I welcome you as a potentially very valuable member of these conversations. No disrespect, but can we get a little admin verification that this guy is legit?

    [EDIT]In another thread, it seems Viral has given his official okie dokie to this being Jason, so... I'll lean to the "welcome" side of that thought[/EDIT]

    Now... as for what you say... when you say "is legit" do you mean the actual physical piece of art exists, that it is/was/could have been conceived for one of the versions of the script (which could have been discarded), or do you mean that it is confirmed for inclusion in Ep VII?

    (note: I do see you say this character has been "made for the film", my question comes to... if the crystal pic shows a much younger char, and you say you are not sure the one in the teaching scene is the same or older rendition, which version has been made, and which will appear in the film, and is the older version potentially for a different genre [potentially Rebels] that will span the saga together)

    When Jason posted the description of the creature with the crystal my source contacted me and simply told me:

    "This artwork is not a scene from the film."

    We were actually discussing the newer scene, the one with this creature as a teacher... which was noted as being somewhat older than in the crystal. This leaves the possibility that the crystal pic is legit and it is not in the movie

    The question I raised was, if the crystal image is legit and not from Ep VII, what are the chances it is being used in one of the other lines (such as Rebels)
