It's interesting that Kylo Rens eyes are the unmistakable yellow/red of a Sith in that pic. Snoke said it was time to complete his training, but I didn't know if he'd become an actual Sith. I suppose it's inevitable. If true, will he become Darth Kylo Ren? Or a new iteration all together?

The Kylo art is just that - art. It is in no way an officially commissioned or leaked actual concept art of Kylo Ren from VIII. It is just a concept artist NOT affiliated with Lucasfilm or ST production just running away with his personal imagination. Only and just that. Let's keep it in perspective people.

And I like this new evil Kylo artwork. Makes him more frightening with sith like eyes and damaged face. Really cool.

 

Obi-Wan Solo, mate, NO one is running away with anything. Nowhere does it say it's official. Clearly states fan concept art. I do have a question for you though, why so sensitive about what is shown? I feel a tinted shade of darkside coming from your post, everything cool?

 

The concept art of Kylo looks like an interpretation of what MSW described as being Kyloo's outfit.

 

I'm cool. No darkside leanings on my part. The opposite actually. I just thought it must be explicitly clear (as it was not) that this is fan art. I just thought if that's the case (you knew it was just random and completely unrelated with production fan art), you should have said so explicitly. Concept art and fan art are two different things and there is a very important distinction and things should be made clear in order not to mislead others...That's all.

But mostly, I quoted your post not because I thought you are making the claim that this is leaked concept art, but rather I wrote my post in response to the people who based on your post assumed as much. (Sorry I was not clear about that and you thought I was addressing you specifically...)

EDIT: As to the latest leak by MSW about Kylo's rumored new costume description (I already posted that in the Kylo Ren thread a few days ago but it might be pertinent here too) it looks uncannily like a costume concept art for Anakin for ROTJ (from the Art of ROTS book). I personally quite like it.

I will say there is no mistaking what I wrote. If i wanted to mislead others, I could have simply said it was leaked. Obviously, that was hardly my intention as it clearly, explicitly says fan concept art, because that is what it is.

And very good ones, may I add.

I imagine if he does, it will be in large part due to his release from the light when he killed his father. Will he become a Darth? Perhaps!

The only problem I'm having with this whole new trilogy/ies direction is that, Kathleen Kennedy specifically said it will be about the Skywalker legacy. So far we only know of Ben Solo being a Skywalker. If he stays dark, we have to assume he will either bare children... obviously not die....

or,

there is another.....

Considering that's the whole message right there, there is no way they would reveal EP IX at celebration. If this were real by any chance, this picture would have to have been taken during a private need-to-know basis meeting. Which I don't think is the case, judging by the message written.

 

Does anyone here think that we will get an Episode 8 trailer in front of R1? I am of two minds about it, I think it would clear some confusion,but I want R1 to be great on its own right without any reliance on the ST hype. I think the most people think the ST is what SW is best going forward but I think Disney will really make better Stand alone films. I really hope they listen to the criticisms and not make it an ESB rehash, it will really bring in some fans that were not into SW like us and I've heard from many this director is doing something fresh.

 

I will be surprised if there is a teaser for VIII before R1. As far as VIII is concerned, I think this one will be different.

 

No trailer for EP. 8 before R1.
Rogue One is a CRITICAL moment for the future of Star Wars. Disney has to get audiences excited for the anthology films on their own merits. I think if there was a trailer for Ep. 8, audiences would immediately be a little less enthralled by Rogue One.
