RUMOR General Star Wars: The Last Jedi News & Rumors Thread

Well it's already established in canon that the Imperials kept the light sabers of the fallen jedi after Order 66 so they could have at least reverse engineered the specs of the various types of sabers in use at that time. We also know they acquired many of the records that the jedi kept, which probably had that sort of information dating back to include older designs that had passed into disuse. And finally we know that the First Order had retained a lot of the records that had been amassed during the Imperial Period. So there is an existing basis for how he could have obtained that information already, should they choose to use it.

I'm not going to go completely off topic and lay out all the reasons I dislike KK & her tenure as LFL boss, but they are many and legit.

I don't hold GL in high regard for his treatment of fans in the period after ROTJ either.

I don't expect Disney to replace her anything like that.


My basic gripe with KK is that she can do her job (which is to produce content and make money for your company, its owner (Disney), & the stockholders of the parent company) without the penchant for dishonesty and disrespect shown towards fans AND acting like she cares about fans.

Marvel and HBO do a much better job making money, controlling information, and dealing with fans & media.


Again, that's a very reductive way of expressing what my issues with KK & LFL.

 

That's a much more reasonable argument.

 

People hate George Lucas and he created the whole universe. I don't think you could have anyone better than KK at the helm if it wasn't GL.

 

Nothing wrong with KK plus Star Wars makes plenty of money as it stands, its a cash cow.

 

Keeping KK in charge was the smart move by Disney. She knows the property and I am completely happy with her right where she is.

 

She's the Darth Vader to Bob Iger's Emperor.

Pure evil.

But anyway, I like Kylo, so I'll take the "clouded" rating and wear it proudly.

 

She got her experience from both Steven Spielberg initially and George Lucas so she has enough experience to know what she's doing

 

Kathleen Kennedy is a great President for Lucasfilm. There's never been a better time to be a Star Wars fan and we're getting beautifully made films that add depth to our beloved GFFA.

In my humble little opinion, I think the Comics are much better now, Rebels is better than the Clone Wars, Rogue One is better than all 3 prequels, and TFA was the perfect start to a new Star Wars trilogy. Kathleen has got my vote.

I'm not aware of KK lying to the fans or disrespecting the fans. She seems like she really cares about the fans. If you have any concrete examples of her mistreating fans, please share them.

 

She hasn't mistreated fans. This is just another baseless/biased bandwagon.

A large portion of the Star Wars "fanbase" is becoming comparible to League of Legends players as a gaming community. Whiny, hateful, toxic, salty, and unpleasable. They spend (or waste) so much time crusading against all of the "wrong-doings" surrounding Star Wars. Disgusting.



Disney/Lucasfilm is going to make money. They're businesses. Let that be. Star Wars was/is also meant to bring escapism and joy to people of all ages. Please just let it be that. Please.

 

Wait, wait. People are upset at KK and Disney/Lucasfilm... because the franchise these fans like... is generating revenue for Disney/Lucasfilm? As in, doing the thing that is needed for more Star Wars material to be produced?! You mean they're sitting around, shaking their fists at the woman responsible for ensuring that we continue to get Star Wars, all "Curse you, Kathleen Kennedy, for making our beloved franchise profitable and daring to soil it with your lucre!"

Exasperated Leia is exasperated.
