My only problem with that script is that it includes a lot of words that just doesn't sound Star Wars and some sentences were straight up corny but maybe that was just a draft. If the language was improved, I could definitely believe it because of all the compelling events going on. But I also find it weird that Snoke just watches without interfering while Luke, Rey, Kylo and KoR are going at it. And wasn't it said that Leia would spend most of the movie in a coma? Don't think I read that in there. Who knows

 

maybe LFL/disney hired someone to write this script on purpose to throw people off .

 

Yeah, I'm going to call shenanigans. That sounds like the kind of thing you would see in a parody movie.

 

This thing was an absolute mess of epic proportions. So many canonical mistakes (i.e. OT stormtroopers are NOT clones), it wasn't even funny. Laughably bad plot point of Lando's unrequited love for Leia and use of the iconic "I love you." "I know." dialogue? Puh-leese. That is an absolute abomination and would be so sickeningly disrespectful to the memory of Han Solo... whether Lando was his friend or not. Pimp C3PO? Yeah, right. Wedge Antilles actor is NOT coming back to Star Wars... ever. He hated the thought. Boussh-level hidden characters by both Luke and Leia? Too much... Chewie can't pilot the Falcon, even though he deftly did so at the end of TFA? The list goes on and on.

The sad thing is, the thing started off okay... even providing some interesting potential plot points. If you wanted Rey to come from an Imperial background, this is one way you could do it. But don't let that desire you have @master_shaitan, blind you from the truth... This thing got worse and worse as it went along. Laughably so. Just because it guessed the title right doesn't mean it should be taken seriously... at all. After all, chimpanzees will eventually write Shakespeare if given an infinite amount of time with a typewriter.

Besides, I think when this thing was previously "leaked" (and I pointed out many of these same issues), a mod here defended it by stating that it was written by a friend for fun and was not really done to try to pass it off as legitimate. I acknowledged the effort that must have been put into it then... and do so now. But at the end, it is not even close...

 

I may have got a bit carried away by some aspects of the script...

Maybe... Although what would be the point? I mean, the first trailer will debunk it if it's fake (and it most likely is).
However, teasing the audience with a Lando and/or Wedge return when there is no such return could easely backfire imo...
This is just a very well made fake.

Although the title is very suspicious. It's either an incredible coincidence, or the writer has access to insider info and parts of this script might even be real...

Could be, but why such a long and elaborate script? I mean, they could just leak fake rumours or concept art... This would be way too much of an overkill imo.

 

Guys, guys... IT IS TOTALLY FAKE. When this thing first came out a while back, a MOD here acknowledged to me it was fake, written by a friend for fun (defending the author's considerable efforts in the face of harsh criticism), and not meant to be passed off as legitimate. I forget which MOD, maybe @Pomojema? But it is definitely NOT legitimate...

Aww shucks... and I was just going to say we can't take any of your theories seriously any more! I guess now that you are medicated again, I have to acknowledge that you are sometimes capable of convincing argument...

(But don't be surprised if I ask you if you are taking your prescriptions when I disagree with you... )

Call it coincidence... or even reasoned hypothesis. After all, as has been pointed out, Luke has been called "The Last Jedi" by Yoda, Snoke, Kylo Ren... basically ever since ROTJ.

Actually, Yoda called him "the last of the jedi" which would've been a better sounding title, to add (at least imo).
Still, a guy writing probaly one of the best fake scripts ever AND ALSO nailing the title? That is some astronomical coincidence...

 

True, although it might have sounded, structurally, a little too close to "Return of the Jedi" ... especially only two movies later.

Sorry, I'll have to disagree with you here... I thought it was laughably bad. But...

 

Have you ever heard the saying, "Once is an occurrence, twice is coincidence, thrice is conspiracy"? The creator could have been using a different title and then changed it when the title was officially released so that people would give his script more credence. Or, you know, he could very well have guessed it out of the blue.

 

You aren't disagreeing with me. For professional standards it is bad (pretty boring and predictable, barely anything new, the dialogues are not very good) but for a fan made script? It's good. Show me another 100+ page fake script with this much input...

It's several months old, it got my attention because of the title (as I said it in my comments btw)...

 

I read it all the way through last night, and i could probably type out a 200+ item list of obvious things that are wrong, but instead i'll just refer to the most accurate summary posted so far....

 

It seems the script has disappeared from the scribd page...
