lot of folk gonna be getting this game.. possibly even record breaking numbers seeing as it would have been huge with just the multi-player audience anyway.

i've just read a bit about Iden Versio from Steve Blank from LF, and Steve Thompson from EA. So she will be a 'perfect soldier' who is out to avenge the emperor's death.. but that fans will empathize with her. Lethal with a blaster, and a great tie pilot.

“She will be in every way, that [same] type of hero,” Iden will stand shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Rey and Leia, already held to the same level of esteem by those that are loyal to the Empire.


that sounds like a big character coming canon's way. looking forward to this game even more now! lol

 

i agree with that.. sort of.

I think it's a perfect platform to introduce the character into that part of the timeline... to get the ball rolling if indeed they are going 'that' way.

 

Hello everyone, I have a couple of questions regarding the possible Rey - Kenobi relation and would love to know your thoughts.

(a) How could Obi-Wan know Rey's name? At the end of Rey's force back, Obi-Wan calls her name as if he knew her.

(b) When Rey tells Finn on Jakku she thought Luke Skywalker was a "Myth", is it not possible that Rey was told this as a child but in the form of a bedtime story by her Grandfather Obi-Wan Kenobi?

I mean I guess we'll see who she is, parts of what we already know. I don't know if they will go the luke-wife route with her or not, but I cant stop thinking about that bold way to really connect the games and the movies when it comes to cannon. Plus the coincidences that his EU wife was from the Empire, and now a girl "that we will sympathize with" shows up in this game. If this is the case and this game story will have a huge twist, I think it's a smart move of Lucasfilm to then have her story told from a game, instead of the movies, since it would take to much time and focus on her, but rather mention her in TLJ/EP9.

Why would Obi-Wan want to contact her if he didn't somehow already know her?

The way Obi-Wan says "Rey" makes me believe there is a measure of affection and familiarity toward Rey beyond her just being a stranger don't you think?

Well that doesn't really explain how he could know her name though right? That would mean force ghosts could go around the entire universe haunting complete strangers.

Should we not expect Qui-Gon, Yoda, and Obi Wan to notice this and therefore, want to investigate?

 

My argument is specifically how Obi-Wan knew Rey's name. When Snoke and Kylo felt the awakening they didn't know her name was Rey. I personally believe in the last Jedi we might find out that Obi Wan might have informed Luke to drop his Granddaughter on Jakku to hide her from Snoke and Kylo Ren.

 

That's definitely a possibility. But to me, learning a Force-users name seems easy. If they can see the "awakening" around her. then gleaning he name is elementary. She can understand languages she's never heard through the Force. Their being able to know her name seems minor in comparison.

To me, it's like saying "As a Force ghost, I can detect someone's address on the opposite side of the galaxy, but not their name" ... this does not make sense to me.

 

There is no evidence of a force ghost specifically knowing someones name without having prior knowledge of who that person is. It's never happened before.

 

So someone has the power to transform their consciousness into the Force, but they can't detect someone's name. Seems like "I can fly, but I've never demonstrated the ability to crawl".

 

I see your point but that would mean Yoda and Qui-Gon could have also contacted Rey in her force back but they didn't. Why is it only Obi-Wan that speaks to her directly? Can you not see how Obi-Wan already knowing her name might be somewhat of a clue to Rey's parentage?
