    Didn't the guy say there were elements of TLJ that harken back to the CloNE Wars (the Prequels)? I liked what Lucas gave us with the Clone Wars. TFA sorely lacked some of the grandeur of those films; it felt too scaled back. Hopefully TLJ will bring some of that back.

    I think this guy is talking about the Slashfilm rumors. They didn't say that JJA disliked the movie, they said that it was different enough that JJA returning will likely be welcome for some fans who think the movie is a little too different. And that this opinion was based on the response of one fan who saw it early, not everyone.

    On the slashfilm podcast, they were talking about all the positive hype for TLJ from inside the industry. The point being made by one of the presenters was that while everyone he spoke to supposedly loves the film, he knows someone that said they were happy with the JJ news because they thought Rian made it too different.

    JJ is on record saying he wishes he could direct the Rian TLJ script.

    Pablo confirms TLJ novelisation is not "delayed", says it was pushed back to stop leaks. Goes on further in the tweet thread to say it's likely 3 months later to coincide with the Blu ray release.

    I thought all the major Star Wars news orgs, SWNN, MSW and others were in an agreement the trailer was mid October? That's still a month away.

    One of the bands in the Clemson and Louisville game was just playing the March of the Resistance. Interesting choice of SW music to play. Band leader must be a SW fan.

    I hope you don't mind my asking, but what was the justification for late September? Is it just so all bases are covered, or is there evidence to strongly believe that this will be the case?

    Just wondering, because TFA's and RO's came mid-October, so I personally don't see any reason to deviate.

    Just what we were told, IE that there was a reason they were waiting so long. I think we heard him state that the next trailer would be revealed in September or October before Disney D23 happened, just to give you an idea about when we heard this.

    He also confirmed that there would be a BTS reel - and not a trailer, as some had presumed - at D23 a little while before it happened, and said that Star Wars wouldn't have a presence at SDCC this year because of that. So he's fairly reliable.

    Disney has Black Panther (full trailer) and Avengers 3 (teaser) to release before the last week of October. They will be shown in theaters before Thor 3

    It makes sense to spread out the three trailers.

    Also, if you release the trailer now (this week), then it can play in front of Blade Runner 2049.


    The NY Giants play on MMF tomorrow...

    We could see something in the next 72 hours.

    Correction: The Emmys are on CBS, not ABC. My bad.

    I get the feeling that the Black Panther trailer will arrive last. The only way I see that not happening is if both it and Thor: Ragnarok get trailers at SDCC, which is still within the realm of possibility.
    But it does have new music.

    You mean NYCC?

    I don't know how much NYCC factors into their marketing this year. I've never really gotten a sense of how big an event it really is in the entertainment world.

    Like I said before, they've got got three Disney trailers to release by late October, and they certainly could release one at NYCC. I don't see them releasing a SW one there though.

    Speaking of NYC, ESPN College Gameday is in NYC this weekend. For the first time, they will be doing the show remotely, but not at the site of a game.

    They have a celebrity game picker appear at the end of each show, almostalways one with some connection to the home team. I could definitely see them have Mark Hamill appear in studio with them to pick games at the end and introduce the trailer sometime earlier during the show.

    It's a three hour show so a three minute break for the trailer would be easy for them to fit in at a random time to draw in viewers.
