Based on both the new English and Japanese trailers, and just being from Rian Johnson, it really looks like TLJ is going to go into uncharted GFFA territory. It seems like it will bend or break many SW movie paradigms. I'm wondering if that will put some of the old school SW purists off.

Spoiler: Description Shots and Lines

It opens with new images of Luke getting on the MF. Later, we see Snoke and Hux in Snoke's throne room. Snoke says "Darkness rises, and light to meet it". In the fight between Finn and Phasma, we hear Finn shout "Come on". The MF bursts out of the ground in Crait (presumably after the chase in the crystal mines). We also see Finn in one of the ski speeders on Crait cheering that the MF shoots down a TIE fighter. We see another shot of Leia on the bridge and Rey in the rain with her lightsaber drawn.

 

what's up with snokes voice?

 

Definitely some new stuff in there. Great TV spot. I’m getting more and more psyched for this movie everyday.

 

Sounds different when he says"Rises" Like it's not his voice or something. I don't know.

 

That whole line seems really off sound-wise..sounds like another person almost. I know from TFA that Snoke's tone changes alot, but this sounds ..i dunno..just weird

But in all seriousness, do we think this is the same scene or another case of two scenes edited together incredibly well?

 

One clue might be the blue light from the lightsaber. It is really strong in one shot, but seems to be missing from the other. No red saber, no blue saber. So if this is the same scene, the sabers come out before or after.

Hux looks over his shoulder in that scene .whos he looking at ? Ren or Rey or Luke ..?

This tracks pretty well with me as well. The thing that makes me think they *are* the same scene is that Rey's eyes seem slightly downcast as though she's looking at something on the ground there.

 

It might be taken from the scene when Kylo arrives on the shore with the KoR maybe and she sees him, or maybe not..but i think this scene is related with kylo atleast

 

The new spot defintely raises the hype. I've read someone say on socials that the scene with Luke in the Falcon was a cheap attempt at getting people emotional. I don't know if it's cheap but to me wasn't news, I mean, it's obvious Disney'll play on the nostalgia factor but I'm glad they seem to being handling it well. In other news... I think that the shot with Rey is a misdirection like msny others in the trailer. Disney seems to enjoy seeing the fandon go crazy, and who could blame them? People will talk more about the movie, it's marketing (even if I don't approve this way of marketing). If it's not a misdirection... Rey will go to the dark side and she'll try to kill Luke? I think not but we'll see... Snoke's line may be when Rey is captured and before that torture scene we saw in the trailer. Another thing, I hope Finn's arc is so important that they don't want to spoil it because he hasn't done so much in the few scenes we saw apart from fighting with Phasma.

On another note, it's my impression or there's a serious lack of Kelly Marie Tran in the trailer and the tv ads? Strange, maybe the thing I said before for Finn it's true for her too.

That's for sure. If you talk about OT purists, don't worry they were put off ages ago . I'm quite scared myself though, I don't know, I fear that they'll do things for the sake of drama only, so big plot twists with nothing much left.
