Why would a reshoot of Daisy Ridley reacting to voices lead you to discern those voices belong to "Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and more..."?

Can't fault MSW's track record, and just refer back to my recent posts defending them in this thread if you think I am being unfair here, but my opinion is that this whole "past Jedi help out Rey" thing is guesswork based on Luke's "thousand generations live in you now" line from the trailer and guesswork based on concept art. Nothing more, nothing less.

Seems the first 40 (41?) cards are in chronological order, taking us through episodes I-VIII.
From there through to #89 things are still roughly in chronological order although they seem to keep skipping about the place...

I'd say it's fair to presume the Rise of Skywalker cards could be in chronological order too...
Maybe not, but - presuming they are - that raises a few questions.

Back to the desert? Back to...? Do we take that literally and presume we are going to revisit Tatooine or Jakku for some reason at the start of the movie?
Or is it simply being used in a more poetic sense, as in back to "the desert", another desert...?
If this is Pasaana, a lot of cards seem to be devoted to events there, given #101 is "The Desert Population".

And "Kylo Ren's Assault" comes before he has reconstructed his helmet? Does he have to force his way into some place to actually repair his helmet? Is this where he confronts his Knights of Ren - does he have to earn their respect again and prove himself worthy of wearing the mask again?

If I was going to have a guess at what some of the cards depicted, I'd go...

Apparently, JJ is hellbent on having every other planetary location a desert wasteland. Which, of course, undermines the iconic significance of Tattooine. JJ sure as hell ain't the visionary Lucas is. More like- creatively bankrupt. Which is a shame because Abrams is a relatively smart and competent film maker.

So we've already seen in the trailers that there's at least 3 other environments in TROS other than a desert, but do go on about how because there's a desert or rocky desert planet in TROS JJ is creatively bankrupt. It doesn't sound silly at all.

Lucas used a non-tattoine rocky desert planet at least twice in the Prequels.

 

There's only a finite amount of terrain available to use. I think George used every possible terrain with Episodes 1 through 6. There isn't really anything new that a person can do without some features shown in previous movies. Besides, maybe desert planets are the norm in the galaxy far far away just like majority of the planets in the Milky Way are just gas giants of various sizes.

 

Isn’t ironic that in our world hearing voices is called Schizophrenia but in Star Wars its just tapping into the Force and hearing Force Ghosts. This leads me to believe Jedi and Sith if they landed on our planet would be labeled Schizophrenic. Imagine trying to tell Vader, Kylo, or Darth Malgus they have a psychological problem.

 

Lucas wasn't afraid of using CGI to make the planets in the PT unique and original. Other movie franchises can give us different terrains with the creative use of CGI. Somehow the ST 'can't'. The abundance of and reliance on desert planets is just lazy from a storytelling standpoint.

 

I had a whole tongue-in-cheek theory that after the trauma of losing the only family he ever knew, Luke Skywalker was really having a schizophrenic break with reality throughout the OT and hallucinating heavily when he started communing with dead people and little green men.

 

JJ is clearly using the OT as the template for environemt... Star Wars environments felt very earthly until the prequels, and even then they were for the most part.. Desert, Ice, Forest, Jungle/Swamp... Mostly water planet... looks like we're getting grasslands, as well as some others. The cloud city was a space station. It's not even an interesting criticism. Even the OT used Tattooine TWICE.
