Reading the new Warrick Davis interview got me to thinking. Confirming Davis is in Eps8, suppose Wicket shows up at Hans funeral? And Maz? And Lando... And EVERYONE...

    Who will attend?

I'm not convinced there will be a Han funeral so it is tough for me to speculate on cameos

Cameo like every other star wars role he's ever had after Wicket...and you can't even see his cameo in TFA btw..

    I dont know.
Lando and Maz are the only ones I can think of. Unless the ones who cameo are characters he has meant and we haven't.

You remind me of this from Star Wars Weekends:

But back on topic, I'm one who doesn't think there will be a funeral. But if there were one, it would be the perfect place for Lando. Maybe Sana Solo... if they wanted to include some other meaningful characters in the background. Maz, I guess. That's about as far as I'd go.

I think Han's funeral will be a pivotal moment in 8, at least to introduce the "political crew" of this new trilogy. I'm still convinced that the movie itself will start with Han's funeral, instead of Luke and Rey's encounter. But it's my opinion. It has sense, though.

To me, Han's funeral will bring the audience to know Laura Dern's and Guillermo del Toro's characters. Plus, other minor politics escaped from Hosnian's destruction.

I don't think there'll be a funeral. Rather weird to do it so long after his death, and also, it's not very "Han Solo" to have an elaborate affair, is it?

I think if there is some sort of memorial on the planet with all the people in black clothing, it's more likely for Hosnian Prime. That would be a more likely place to introduce Laura Dern, if she is in fact Leia's competition in the Resistance.

Luke has been there and done that already. That would be redundant to take him down that path again.

I thought it was implied that the end of TFA takes place at least a few days after the battle at Starkiller Base. And Leia seems to be in a mourning dress, so I figured whatever memorial they were going to have already took place.

But really, my main point is that a big state funeral doesn't seem like something Han would ever have wanted.

VIII could easily take place weeks after TFA ended. We know that VIII starts right after TFA leaves off. What we don't know is how much time did Rey stay at D'Qar before heading off th find Luke (I would suspect a few days at minimum) and we don't know how long it takes to get from D'Qar to Ach-to. This trip in itself could take a few weeks depending on the location of each planet to each other. So while there is not a time gap between movies, we don't know what size of a time gap there is between the destruction of Starkiller and the end of TFA

I would want to see Lando appear, he owes his old friend a final farewell
