I think we'll see all 1,448 of Greedo's orphaned offspring in attendance wearing "Han shot first" t-shirts.

Greedo will be at the German comic con in Berlin next week, I may ask him. :)

The real Greedo from ANH or the voice in TCW? That's cool.

It is Paul Blake, the real ANH Greedo actor. But I'm quite sad now, since Dave Prowse cancelled his appearance at the comic con in Berlin. I mainly wanted to meet him at least once. :( Now I will go a little later there than planned, since a lot of the guests from Star Wars cancelled. Not much to look forward now anymore. :(

I agree there has to be some time between when Rey & Company return after Starkiller Base exploded. When Rey comes back, R2-D2 miraculously wakes up and has the final piece of the star map puzzle. I believe you can see C-3PO's is still red. But, when Rey takes off to find Luke, C-3PO's arm is back to its original gold color. (See the images below)

So, that means there has to have been SOME time passed between when Rey arrived and when she left again. Of course, we don't know how much time that was, but it would probably have to be at least a day or two.

But, beyond that, we don't know how much time passed between when Rey left, and when she arrived to meet Luke. I would assume she didn't make any pit stops. And, from how I understand Star Wars' hyperspace, it doesn't take more than a few hours (maybe days???) to travel to planets around the galaxy. So I think we can assume that not much time passed from when she left the Resistance Base and arrived on Ach-to.

So, in total, Rey arrived on Ach-to maybe 1-3 weeks after Starkiller Base's destruction, give or take a week or two, of course.

Given that rough estimate, it seems like a long time to wait before a memorial is held... Especially for someone like Han, who wouldn't really want that sort of thing, anyway.

I'm sure his death will come up in some way (and maybe a pivotal way???), but I believe any memorial will be off-screen, and would be a small ceremony.
If they wanted to have Han's funeral, they would have included it in the end of TFA, when the loss was fresh in the audiences' hearts/minds. If they tried to add it to Ep VIII, I think it would be out-of-place, or unnecessary. I'd like it much more if they acknowledged his death, and maybe made a brash decision "because that's how Han would have done it," but nothing more than slight hints/reminders of his death.

Strange if we wont see Lando in a posible Han Solo funeral, they are great friends so he's presence is very important. But since Billy Dee Williams is not confirmed for ep. VIII I dont have any idea if Disney has something reserved for him, maybe they decided to kill the character in events before TFA.

Not be disrespectful to Han's memory but does anyone think Boba Fett may show up?

Very funny bringing up that TESB quote, he did live long enough for Boba to collect his bounty too bad he wasn't involved in the TFA hunt, it was just a idea.

I really hope there is no funeral, and I really hope there are no cameos, especially Lando. All of that would just be fan service and drag the movie down.

I kind of agree. I don't even think there is much confirmation there is even gonna be a funeral, anyway. Is there?

Am I the only one seeing a Robot Chicken clip when we discuss Han's funerals?

Like having old Boba, Dengar, IG-88 and Zuckuss carrying the coffin?
    Salacious Crumb eating egg-salad sandwichs.
Lando getting drunk and hitting on Leia.
The Mos Eisley cantina band doing a sad rendition of the Cantina song
Chewbacca's family doing an a capella rendition of the Star Wars main theme.

It might be funny to have a Funeral Playset in Toys R Us next year.
Gives morbid playtime with your friends (Let's kill one of our figurine, do a funeral and bury it in the sandbox)

I've been wondering about that since I first saw TFA. On the one hand, TFA has the kind of cliffhanger ending where the audience would probably like to see exactly what happens next. Jumping forward could be a bit of a letdown.

On the other hand, no Star Wars movie has ever started immediately after the end of the previous episode. Without any lapse between them, is the opening crawl just going to say, "So, um, here we go..."
