    I can dig something like that. I am wondering if we'll somehow get backstory in one of the next episodes, or if it'll be relegated to the print media.

    I might see a passing reference made, but not sure such an 'explanation' of sorts would work in a proper Star Wars movie.

    I don't think Snoke was going to train him unless he made a step towards the dark side. Clearly after he makes the leap after killing his father it is then Snoke will train him. He sensed the light side in Ren at first and manipulated him just like Palp manipulated Anakin. He will be training with Snoke off screen between film. He will most likely call him master next time we see them since Snoke said its time to train him.

    Kylo says though that "by the grace of your (Snoke's) training, I will not be tempted". So, Snoke is Kylo's master, whether he calls him master or not.

    Ren thinks Snoke is wise and seems deferential to him, but he also has an agenda of his own which doesn't necessarily coincide with Snoke's orders as General Hux notes early in the movie when discussing capturing or destroying BB-8. Furthermore, when Ren tells Rey he can teach her the ways of the force, it is unclear to me if he is not trying to double-cross Snoke.

    I agree. I think in Ep8 we see the beginning of the cybernetic "grave robber" that was common in the concept art.
