Is Leia going to go to the Dark Side?

In my opinion, I just don't seeing it happen.

I'd imagine Leia as a little "dark" but not going to the dark side completely...the closest she gets to it is being cold anc calculating when she needs to be..

 

I also doubt it, because she is a Disney princess. Maybe she will do questionable decisions, but I don't see them going down the route to make Leia evil.

 

She is strong with the force, but not fully trained as a Jedi.

She has lost Han, millions died in the Hosnian system and her son is tormented and in pain.. and causing pain to everyone.

My heart wants to scream 'omg no way can she could be influenced by the dark side!', but all of my Star Wars knowledge tells me in bucket loads that she is as prime a candidate to turn to the dark side as we have ever seen.

do i think she will? no, but don't brush aside the possibility so lightly. She doesn't have the training to be in the same room as Snoke or even her son the way he is now.

 

Leia seemed sad but not angry after Han's death. However, years and years of battle and war might have taken its toll on her and I can see her make an unethical choice that would end the First Order once and for all. For example, she could decide to use a weapon of mass destruction or she could order a First Order member to be tortured to obtain information.

we would all need therapy if we witnessed that event happening on the big screen. it'd be like murdering Lassie.. you just can't go there!

 

Not sure they will give Leia much screen time because Carrie Fisher has problems to act anymore.

 

i know she struggled at the start.. but i thought she did pretty well in the end?

of all the returning characters, i thought Carrie would say no to filming more star wars. I think it was pretty brave of her actually.
i think she'll get better the more she is on camera

 

I don't think that's possible, and for a number of reasons. First, Leia is force sensitive but not force strong. She can barely perceive it, never mind being tempted by the dark side. I know there are rumours about her doing this or that, but I think they're fake. Leia didn't use the force in her youth, in a trilogy where she was a main charcter, and she's not going to start doing it now that she's in a supporting role. That would require a lot of character development, which at this point just wouldn't make sense. And I don't think the actress herself would be up for it either. I might be wrong, but I just can't see it happening.

 

She fought off the darkside this long, she's too tired for revenge, she just wants redemption for her son.

 

No. Of course anyone can have a moment of darkness, like Windu when he wanted to kill Palpatine in Ep. III, but that doesn't mean he went dark side. She might flip out and use the force, but she's won't "go dark side".

 

there is this rumor that she uses the force to protect herself during an assault. I can indeed see this happening and in life debt novel we learn that Luke trained her a little bit. So this could be a great moment if done right.

 

Yeah I heard that rumor but honestly, I don't believe any of them. Not because I think people are lying, but because they offer their own interpretation of what they're seeing. They put little pieces together the way they see fit, and the result is most likely very far from the truth. For instance, now we have the rumor that Kylo Ren will wear a cape that might have belonged to Vader. Which apparently means that he's 100% evil and more obsessed with Vader than ever. And why? Probably because someone caught a glimpse of him in a black cape, which doesn't mean anything given that this is SW we're talking about, where everyone wears capes at one point or another. But someone who wants him to go full Vader..... Will see Vader. I can only imagine what happens with more complex scenes, especially if they involve use of the force. So I don't believe anything until december 2017. And you're right, anything can work if done properly, but I just don't see this happening... It might, but I'd never see it coming

 

Seeing as how Disney is running things, I don't see Leia getting much screen time and less going down the path of evil.

 

I think she was always on the "lightside" but when pressed, would use her anger as a strength (think killing Jabba the Hutt, they have pointed out how a hard feat that was) like the incredible hulk. You don't want to see her anger. Her personality was always so selfless, and I can't see her going full on dark.

 

Well, as I repeat myself over and over again... this trilogy might be about Leia. Kylo is the extension of her and went darkside like his grandfather. So... I don't think Leia herself will fall, but her son did. But, I expect her to play an important part bringing him back to the light somehow.
