Leia is the becon of good, purity and even to some degree innocence in the force realm.
She has yes, endured extreme lose, if anything this will connect her to the light even harder.
I don't see her losing her way, lose of Han will create focus if anything and show her, Ren is too far gone.
She's come to far now, to go backwards.

Couldn't agree with you more mate! I said it after TFA.

People where going on about how the SW trilogies are about the Skywalkers and Luke wasn't in it!
Ha, ahhh, Leia is a Skywalker and has as much right to have her story told, it would make sense, as this trilogy has a strong focus
on the women of the force, and what her family (and galaxy) are currently enduring with Ren's mistake! I can see that tone right through the movies
if Ren dies it wont be until the last episode (I think), so lots of that backstory to be filled in and it would be very Leia, Han and Luke focused!

I don't want her to go to the Dark side, and i don't think she will go to the dark side.

but the raw star wars math is simple..
untrained or poorly trained powerful Force sensitive = prime candidate for turning to dark side.

again, i don't want her to and i don't think she will. jeez i'd probably find that harder to take than Han's death.. but i can't ignore the possibility as much as i'd like to.

I do not foresee Leia turning to the darkside. I find Leia to be a fully realized figure that knows her place in the galaxy, unlike Luke who still seems to be searching for something. But who knows. Anything's up in the air.

No. I'm afraid Carrie just hasn't got the acting chops to pull that off.
And Leia doesn't seem to have the desire to truly pursue the power of the Force.

As Obi-Wan Kenobi said "The Force Has a strong influence on the weak-minded." Leia, just like Maz, even though they are both Force sensitive, is not weak-minded. They are both seemingly very wise.
And to look at the flip side, Kylo-Ren is a powerful force user, but a very conflicted, unwise character. Both Han and Rey, untrained in the power of the Force, were able to withstand his power and not be corrupted by it, since both are seemingly very wise, at least wiser than Kylo is.
If Rey ever meets Snoke, that might be a different story.

    Thanks for the reply man.

But honestly, I feel like Leia is potentially one of the strongest mentally in the current list of force users.

While Luke left (for whatever reason), she stayed, leading the resistance with amazing success,
while dealing with the lose of her son to the darkside, brother missing, death of Han, lose of her planet
and not to forget her father was Darth Vader as well, she has taken it in strides and been almost non effected.
She's a beast in my opinion.

This might get me heat, but Luke in my opinion is more likely to submit to the darkness than Leia,
he's shown (When younger) a submission to his emotions. Higher interest in his father and origins
and don't know for sure, but was apart of allowing Kylo to the darkside. So I have more concerns about
    him than Leia.

Leia = One resilient, badass princess.

No question. I highly doubt that TPTB will have her turn to the dark side, notwithstanding the question of whether CF has the chops to pull it off in convincing fashion (I share that concern, too).

But what I find interesting is this question: Should Leia turn dark? She has lost more than anyone. Her biological parents. Her adoptive parents. Her entire planet. Her brother. The New Republic. Her Resistance fleet. Her husband. Her son.

Yoda said, "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

She has been fighting and suffering her entire life (at least since 16...). So does what Yoda said work in reverse? Does suffering lead to hate? Does hate lead to anger? Does anger lead to fear? Fear to the darkside? I think we all know the answer to these questions because we saw it in Anakin.

What does Leia have left to lose? What if it is her only remaining family? If Luke dies? If Rey, whether niece or daughter, is turned (or even apparently tempted)? So what does Leia fear? I would think she would fear losing it all. And wouldn't it dramatically underscore just how dire the circumstances have become if Leia is tempted or even turned to the dark side?

While many say that there is no way this can (or should) happen because Leia has always been the last beacon of hope, I would remind you that Luke was really the new (and last) hope for defeating the dark side. The threat of losing Leia to dark side was his last temptation and because of it he exhibited both light and dark tendencies. Again, I don't think Leia turning to the dark side will happen now, but...

I always thought that narratively, the two conflicted sides of Vader should have been embodied separately in his children. Leia the dark (the politician, like Sidious) and Luke the light (the brave knight). It certainly appears that this may be what they are doing with Rey and Kylo. In my mind, rightfully so.

Nonetheless, the idea of two opposing siblings and their offspring, Father and Daughter vs. Mother and Son, is at least intriguing. But I will be content with Luke's daughter vs. Leia's son.

EDIT: What really would bake my noodle is a conflict of Dark Sons vs. Light Daughters. Yin and yang. Rey the light having a little bit of dark in her from her father Luke, Kylo the dark having a little bit of light left in him from his mother Leia... bottom line is that there are all kinds of intriguing possibilities.

As others have said, Leia has always been portrayed as one of - if not the most - morally sound characters in this whole story. She started off at clearly a young age helping fight the Empire, and has consistently been the most grounded "good" character of them all.

Even if they for some reason wanted to change that, I think it would be silly to double up on the "light character goes bad" narrative that they already have built around Kylo. While Leia has definitely been through a lot of dark things, I would think this would only strengthen her already solid views. Seeing her son go to the dark side and kill his own father would just be another action that would show the ugly the truth about what the dark side can do to any individual if they pursue it.

I guess it all depends on just how much she wants to be with her son. Now that Kylo has murdered Han, there's very little chance of him being redeemed. If she is there when Kylo is about to be killed by Luke or Rey, she may pull a reverse Vader and save him by using the dark side of the force.

Nor do I. But there are still a lot of potential choices for the characters to make. Who knows what they'll choose?

There's no way she turns to the dark side. By doing so she would be joining the side that destroyed her home planet, deceived her son, and killed her husband. Plus the teaser trailer showed her when it was referring to the light and showed Kylo's smashed helmet when referring to the darkness...

I really don't think so and even more so having lost Carrie Fisher so recently. It is a sad thought but I think Leia's character is going to fade away little by little unless they do what they did in Rogue One which I don't think will happen.

I am fairly certain I read that her brother and daughter agreed to allow Lucasfilm use CGI to put her into Episode IX.

    Just leaving that here :
Leia's primary attribute had always been her incredible will : she was the one comforting Luke after Obi Wan's death ... despite having just lost her entire homeworld herself, parents included.
Leia won't have Dark Side issues : the Dark Side should worry about having Leia issues !
