SPECULATION JJ using EU Solo twins?

I think there is a possibility that Kylo and the "Jason" character are separate characters. If they truly want to play the EU card then perhaps Han is killed in this movie. Driver has received some jedi training, but is not fully trained. Driver is captured at the end of VII and turns to the Darkside at the end of VIII after being tortured for information about the whereabouts of Luke. This plot works better to me if Han does not die in VII but later, but it would still work.

 

Maybe Rey & Finn have been friends for years & are working on a recon mission gone wrong.

I dont know, but I definitly think JJ was inspired by some aspects of thte EU... I dont remember when it was, but really early on I believe he mentioned that he liked the relationship between Luke and Ben Skywalker.

I wish I could find that interview.

 

The only reason I don't think Kylo is a Solo is poetry, man. Men.... People.

I think Kylo will start out bad, not necessarily a Sith exactly but en route. Following that path. In a twist on the PT/OT, we then see Rey et al attempt to turn him away from the Dark Side. We haven't seen a Force User move from dark to light: it's something TFA/ST could show us that would definitely be new. Imagine the scene, a riff on the Luke / Sidious scene from ROTJ:

KYLO: I will not hear this, Jedi! I am a Sith!
LUKE: You are not a Sith. And I am not a Jedi. I am something more powerful than either. Join me. Or die.

Middle ground. Grey area. The dark and the light. I think that's where this trilogy is heading.

So. Why have a Solo son introduced as having already turned to the Dark Side. Better to introduce a scenario where there are Force Users working for the bad guys (Inquisitors) and then single one out (Kylo Ren) as having delusions of grandeur.

If Kylo is a Solo we'd need to know what went wrong, how/when he turned. Just have him as someone who was identified as a child and trained to hunt Jedi then became obsessed with Vader. Cleaner, imo....

 

It's rebel away I think the quiet approach is not their style against the imperials plus they would be discovered pretty soon the empire still has spies everywhere.

 

Indeed spying is easy when you know which side you are on.

 

God...that damned blurry guy with a bushy mustache. Apparently the entire cast is part of that rebel group if you stare hard enough at those images.

Making the new title "Kylo" is pretty dumb. Darth is synonymous with the Sith, you don't change it for something that can be misinterpreted from a measurement of cocaine (though....if I had a kylo of coke...)

 

Sith title theories:

1- Uber a long dead or thought dead Sith makes him an apprentice.
2- The Imps miss having Sith as enforcers its better for that kill the hope vibe they need so they declare the biggest baddest inquisitor/whatev darksider a Darth. In WW2 Hitler wanted that Tetaunic knight feel.
3- Sith cult venerates Vader/Palps declares leaders of the cult Darths
4- Kylo is nuts declares himself nuts force chokes challengers
5- He has no Darth title.

 

I don't know how close this is to the truth, but I really like the majority of that. It would be the most plausible of the rumors I have read.
