True! We do not want them mirroring his grandpa story. I agree, he could go back to his mother after "losing" her voluntarily.

 

I think the only satisfying ending with him would have something to do with her, either she and he come back together in some fashion, or she kills him herself. I don't think I could take any other situation regarding him.

 

From what I read in Life Debt, hope it is the first choice. The latter would break my heart even further, it would be so tragic.

I think Ben losing Leia would actually diminish even further the pull to the Light he is talking about feeling.If Ben ever decided to come back to the Light Side, probably the only thing he could rely on to get him through it would be his mother's acceptance.If there was no Leia, there would be pretty much nobody else that would actually want him back.(Chewie probably hates him for life after what he witnessed on that bridge)
Considering all this, the chance Ben gets redeemed and Leia dies seems low to me.

Yep it already had a box with me when the Han/Leia reunion happened, anyway when Kylo & Leia meet they may exchange words, she gives him a slap they goes to give him another but he grabs her hand then him holding his lightsaber she says go on son do Snoke's dirty work, Kylo will then says this is my choice......mother.

i can't see any way of getting audience acceptance from a mother killing her son on the big screen. Leia would never give up on him - period.

i will of course acknowledge that the solo family future is bleak at best, and further tragedy is almost a given.. but that's a step too far in my opinion.

 

After seeing what Kylo Ren did to Han I really think that finding his mother would make no difference as he might see that as a weakness as well and he might try to do the same to Leia as he did to Han Solo. Kylo Ren wants to be just like Vader so it makes sense that he might want to eliminate everything he might consider to be a weak link.

 

If Kylo Ren wants to be like Vader, then his mum has to be kindnapped and killed. That's an interesting thought: did the Tusken Raiders rape Shmi?

 

While the thought of having the Tusken Raider's raping Shmi is pretty disturbing to my amphibious brain, I have to say that having Leia bite it by his hand would get him closer to the Dark Side.
