In all seriousness (I know my Irish sense of sarcasm and irony war with it) I see it as rather the other way... that small rumors go in there, off the cuff things that really don't fit anywhere else... and sometimes there will be a LOT of discussion, whereby if it were all in one thread, it would get jumbled and confused... think of Concept Art Revealed, over 700 responses on that alone... anything else thrown in there would have been lost..

 

Cool! Back on topic... Whether the rumor is true or not, I am loving the diversity on display in the cast. Can you imagine if the hero and villainess of the ST are both black? Would be a nice way for George to address some of the criticism leveled at the Star Wars universe (I'm sure you've all heard the 'only one black character per trilogy' bit) AND make his African American wife happy. We all know who the real boss is!

Would love to see some Asians in prominent SW roles as well. If China is the new Hollywood, it bodes well to be inclusive of the billion strong.

Making someone a major character because they are darker skinned is just as bad as not making them a major character because their skin was dark... imnsho... unless it fits the character or there is a reason, then natural selection should play out (i.e. who is the best actor for the role) That being said, I would love more diversity in the cast...

It does give me a rather different perspective on things... would you like to know how happy I was about Skellig Michael?

What the hell?! Something is killing all force sensitives? The same thing that killed Padme?! Didn't she die of child birth complications/broken heart? So does this mean the universe post ROTJ is loveless? Or are we alluding to there being an imbalance in the force. When that happens, the jedi start to die? Need the yin to their yang? Does this dovetail into the other new rumor involving the inquisitors? How they've secretly watched every jedi/sith conflict and somehow help keep the balance by aiding the sith? Is this why Luke is falling apart? Is the only thing that can save them the one thing that may destroy them?

 

Well the Leonis thing is interesting because of the connection to Rebels where there is an Imperial recruit by the name of Zare Leonis. And he's black. I was speculating that he could be Boyega but the age did not fit the timeline. So maybe Boyega's character is his son?

 

No, no... see... there was another black guy in the galaxy, Lando, so Boyega is already "spoken" for...

One part of the 'leak' that clicked for me was Driver being Dooku's grandson. I can totally see that they could be related. I'm not sure how I feel about Leia being in a wheelchair, or Luke showing up right at the end of the film (feel like we'll see him earlier). I predicted Han will die (steal the show), but by Christie (I thought she was going to be an imperial commander of some sort) who is supposedly Boba Fett's successor? If true, is it revenge for what happened in ROTJ to Boba Fett, or just for reward? Hmm.

 

There were reports of a still shot of Leia in chambers... it mentioned the outfit she was wearing, her nemesis, lots of details... mechanical legs were not mentioned, but... who knows...

 

There was a report about Leia negotiating with the huts, standing I might add.
