Something tells me this may be an entire wave.

The Black series' waves have always been 4 figures per wave, with mixed characters from both OT and PT.

To celebrate the release of TFA, Hasbro may drop a whole wave of Ep7 characters. This would be cool.

Also, I think Rey will come with BB-8.

 

Rey's outfit reminds me more of Mauls....

 

the far left toy could be Kylo Ren based purely on the fact that they both have fat belts on...

Rey's costume is more junker than Jedi. The color is right but so was Luke's gear in ANH. If you look at the trailer she has some capri length pants on. the figure has a cuff about mid calf so I think it is safe to say that she has a scarf or a shirt around her waist.

All that to say though I think these are drafts which may change or someone doing figure customs and playing with us. For one Kylo Ren and the ribbing on the fabric sells it for me that it is intended to be Ren however he looks much beefier than Driver. Driver is tall but looks pretty lean. That figure looks thicker. It is possible that someone has a few pieces of art and spent a lot of time pouring over that trailer and came up with their own figures.

 

We have to remember that these figures aren't finished yet, so colors will probably change.

 

They are legit hasbro. Makingstarwars.net had to remove the photo because they were contacted by hasbro.

 

Yeah I saw that too. I am less skeptical but not by a whole lot.

For one. I really hope those are rough sculpts. I hate the Finn figure. Sure it would be funny if he was walking around in oversized Han kit but to be honest I hope that one he is not a Jedi and two I hope they give him really cool commando/bounty hunter armor. Its just my bias from my now interupted speculation.

Second they are borrowing sculpts from previous runs I hope that is not the case. Honestly I would love to see Chewie put on a few pounds. He is a lanky one especially standing next to his dad in ROTS who was a beast. I would love to see some changes in his style. Even if this is his final "look" I imagine they will follow it up with an original sculpt.

Third credibility. In the last month a caught fibber SpoilerMan made the international press with his "leaks." That is pretty darn impressive. People are really following this close. Hasbro does not want credit for the leak, it doesn't want rough drafts out there making headlines and it by having it removed it neither confirms or denies the issue just they want it down.

Lastly timing. The buzz from the trailer died and there was names release now buzz from the names is dying now there is this.

The Mystery Box is strong with this one.

 

i was just thinking how much rey's action figure's hands look like darth maul's, i wonder if that mean that really was a lightsaber pike on the side of her speeder? look at the way the hands are on the others to hold blasters or normal lightsabers

 

Hmmm... A lightsaber pike may prove to be a good choice against a foe with a crossguard saber

 

I've been thinking about this all day long: mystery box or not. The one thing I find very strange in this particular leak is Chewbacca. Even at such an early stage, why would they use the 2014 (current) mold? It looks like they popped Chewbacca's head out and put a new one on the "old" body. The only explanation I see is a) to get an idea of the ball joints or b) simply because Hey! "It's more convenient and no one's ever going to see this anyways". Keep in mind that the figure is a COMPLETE kit bash with only a slight facial *much needed* tweak. Hence, this one particular figure gets me puzzled.

HOWEVER.

We do get a lot–I mean, A LOT–of info with the rest of them, especially Kylo Ren. This is the one that consolidates this whole leak as it led to other posts from Jason Ward and Latino Review I won't bother reposting (most, if not all, of you have already seen them). The fact that Kylo's design is backed up by concept art which seems to have been floating around for quite some while now makes it look legit. A cheap knock-off chinese figure would have focused on the previous visuals we thought depicted Kylo (~Revan~): even that would have been a miracle.

Finally.

Ep VII is one year away. I think Lucasfi–Disney (hum hum)–will want to release them in time for the holidays: mid Oct/November. Of course, they have to mass produce these bad guys but they still have quite some time to play around with the designs. These are at very early stage, I don't think they even started working on the paint application since Chewbacca's body is the one that came out this year.

 

This is just another great day in the world of Star Wars. I can't wait to see the finished products in color. I think the Kylo figure is going to be badass once it is in color. The thing that strikes me most is the size of this figure. He looks like he is going to be a pretty big dude. The BB8 figure is also striking for its smallish size. Smaller then I expected. Not sure what I was expecting for Finns figure but the clothes surprised me. Definitely has that OT feel. Rey's figure is great. I think she is going to be my favorite character. Chewy is well, Chewy. Good to see an old friend. Can't wait for more exciting developments.

 

These figures are straight up legit. Rebelscum was asked to pull the image by Hunter PR. Hunter PR is the public relations firm that works with Hasbro, I know this because I am in close contact with Hunter PR from years of blogging experience.

Also Hasbro started preliminary work on Ep7 last spring. They started to receive concept art and some finished designs around then. One of their marketing directors was at Pinewood in February and met cast and crew for some reason , lol.

Lastly, the first real onslaught of TFA merchandize hits shelves in September of next year. That was revealed in the selling points of the Journey to Ep7 book description.

 

I assume they consulted with Weebles, Inc. on how to do a proper 'wobbles but they don't fall down' action figure. They can overcome his spherical nature brah.

It's definitely Kylo Ren!

Anyone noticd the final design of Ren's Vader-esque helmet? The war hardened faceplates look the same as Doug Chiang's design for the Chrome Trooper helmet that IR leaked months back.

They're using the same body mold for one simple reason.

Money.

It's cheaper to use the current mold.

Less retooling = less time spent on a single figure = less money spent in production.

 

I would just like to point out that the hinges on the arms seem to be colored already.

 

The guy that leaked the figurine image (Roy) had this to say in an update today:

 

Yeah in the 3 3/4 inch figures he will probably not come alone but with Rey. But if these are the black series 6 inch he will probably be seperate.

Yes you could 'paint up ' the rest....loved what you did with kylo.
