Luke Skywalker needs a SON

Let's be honest, the only satisfying thing here is the outcome. You don't have to pay people to write such stories.

Obi Wan had a platonic affair and he stated very clearly that he would have left the order if he had to marry and live a love affair.

 

Why wouldn't "She was dead" work? If she was kidnapped and left on Jakku, which apparently has some major Dark Side vibes, that could have cloaked her presence in the Force. Plus, there's some good Biblical symbolism there: Joseph being sold by his brothers into slavery, anybody?

 

Because no parents in the world would stop searching a kid if they don't have a dead body.

 

Perhaps he did search. Which could have distracted him from other duties- like Ben's training, and prevented him from recognizing Snoke's attempts to corrupt Ben.

 

Maybe but he gave up at some point. And it was a bad decision because she's still alive.

 

yeah people seem to forget that he himself is human but feels the requirement to follow the order where anakin does not which is how Luke happened.

 

If Luke had a son it would limit his scenes with Rey, she should be his fill focus, no distractions please RJ.

 

I still have all my hope that Rey is Luke's daughter and Rey Skywalker is the perfect resolution. I don't want the Skywalker name to go and Luke having a kid to follow into his steps.

Quick question for all the pro Luke having kids crew. If we knew for a fact that Luke survives the trilogy and if there is a sequel to the ST, would the strong desire for Luke to have offspring be as great?

 

I still prefer if Rey is Luke's kid, but the combination of Luke having no offspring and Luke being killed in this trilogy would be too much to be invested in another trilogy. I just don't care for Kylo/Ben in case he is redeemed to follow him as a hero.

So yes, if Luke has no kid, it would lessen the disappointment if he at least survives this trilogy.

 

My thought are this: In terms of keeping the last name in the family Rey if she is Luke's daughter would probably assume his last name, Rey Skywalker. Then let's just for poops and giggles say she ends up marrying Finn and having a child with him. This would go down in one of two ways. Finn having to knowlegde of his real name or family would adopt the last name Skywalker making them Mr. and Mrs. Rey and Finn Skywalker. The alternative is that Finn learns of his real first and last name and let's just say again for poops and giggles that it happens to be Garrus Calrissian. So Rey Skywalker marries Garrus Calrissian (Finn). Then her name would be changed to Rey Skywalker-Calrissian. In the old EU when Leia married Han her names was changed to Leia Organa-Solo, Mara Jade be became Mara Jade Skywalker. It's unclear at this point if Leia ever changed her name to Organa- Solo in the films but a woman of her political stature wouldn't probably change her name unless she felt strongly that she needed to. But that is how the Skywalker name can stay is that the Rey and Finn's son or daughters name would be Sydney Skywalker-Calrissian or they would even just use Skywalker being that Finn wouldn't necessarily have a relationship with his father and would probably feel Luke to be more of a father to him.

Another possibility is that Finn could be Luke's Son. I know but he's black and he's white. Believe me I know Finn Skywalker makes less sense than Rey Skywalker. but if people are complaining that Rey is too obvious what could be more of a twist than Skywalker having a black son. @hamillhimself tweeted a photos stating how wonderful John Boyega was, and that he was Sonsational. I know that might be reading into it but I still believe that anything is possible at this time. Finn's blackness can easily be explained by Luke having married a black woman. Luke did start to fall in love with a fellow rebel named Nakari Kelen who was a black woman in the novel Heir to the Jedi. She won't end up being Luke's wife for reasons I will not say on this forum because spoilers. However their is another prominent female character that is black. Han's "Wife" Sana Solo now Han and Sana have zero feelings for one another and they aren't really married. I am not entirely certain that Luke an Sana would develop feelings for each other but it's a start. The last possibility is that they could have the new version of Mara Jade be a black woman. that last thought would probably upset too many fans but is still an option.

Lastly, I believe we need Rey or Finn, whoever to be either Luke or Leia's kid because of a few reasons. First this is the skywalker family saga, one of our leads needs to be a skywalker, at least through blood. Second that main Protagonist has to be that Skywalker, Not one of the Antagonists. I don;t accept Ben Solo and the skywalker of this generation because he is the Darth Vader or Count Dooku of this trilogy. Rey is the best bet for being the Anakin or Luke of this Trilogy. Also this sequel trilogy can have a couple of skywalkers in the new generation and it will still be less convoluted than the old EU. Han and Leia had three kids, Jacen and Jaina whom are twins, and their little brother Anakin. Luke had a single Son, Ben. there were way more Skywalkers in the the sequel generation than there are in vii right now. If they want to keep their options open IE having a possible furthering of the Skywalker Story (Ep X-?) They can't end the Skywalker bloodline with Ben Solo and Luke Skywalker. No, there is another. Let's say The skywalker blood line ends with the death of Ben and Luke at the end of IX. That effectively end the Skywalker Story and anymore stories with Rey or Finn or Poe wouldn't be Episode X because as I said the Skywalker Story is done. It's not the responsibility of these films (I-IX) to do anything more than tell the Skywalker Story. The expansion of the universe will come from the Spinoff films the tv shows, books and the comics.

 

I thought that Ben Skywalker should've remained canon. I feel like it is more significant for Luke's son to be named Ben and not Han and Leia's. Its starting to look like Luke is still a single man and has no children. I do think he needs a son so the Skywalker name can live on. We also need another good Skywalker because they need to be more good than bad.

 

I think Luke's chances of having a son died with Nakari Kelen in Heir to the Jedi....unless he later started a romance with Sana Starros (noticed their growing friendship in the SW comics).

 

We can only hope that the terrible Ben/Ren is not the end of the bloodline.

 

We have 30 years of untold stories about Luke. You don't think he may find a love interest in 30 years?

 

Not if he is teaching/babysitting a group of young force sensitives, who all can probably sense everything going on when he takes some lady on a date.......that would put a damper on anyone's love life.....

 

that's indeed interesting...never thought about such problems...poor Luke.
