    So the credit for this theory (as far as I know) goes to Dash Star from Youtube. Here's the video.



    Overall, I think the idea of having a TV show about Luke starting up the temple and seeing him around the 25-40 age as a mentor would be a great idea. However, I'm not 100% sure this needs to be explored as a TV show, or a live action one at least. Personally, I think I'd rather see this as an animated cartoon preferably done by Filoni and crew so it could tie into the previous shows. I could see this being a way to continue the adventures of the OT heroes after their roles in the ST movies end while tying up the loose ends that the movies leave in-between them. It would also allow for the favorite animated characters to meet their "live action" counterparts...sorta. Either way, I wanted to toss it out to y'all. Would you like to see a TV show about Luke Skywalker's Jedi Temple? What would you call it? Which format would like to see it in - live action or animated? Or is this a silly and crazy idea? Thanks and let me know! :)

    As soon as I heard about the academy massacare, this is exactly what thought. Disney saying that they have enough material for at least 40 years, I strongly suspect that something is already in the works. An animated series would be best I think. Mark Hamill could do the voice of a younger Luke, he's a GREAT voice actor. Obviously Ben Solo would need to be the focus. So far the animated series seem to be the medium of choice for telling the stories between episodes. That being said I am by no means against a live action series. I'm in favor of more SW in any medium, as long as its done well.

    Both at the same time, but for differing audiences? Like Underworld for older fans and this for the younger "welcome to the world of Star Wars" demographic (like what TCW and Rebels are doing for kids now)? At this point I think Disney just needs to have a Star Wars channel.

    I definitely want a series that fills in the gap, but I think focusing entirely on the academy would be slightly off the mark. Too much focus on Jedi dulls the wonderment.

    I want to see what happens with Leia, and Han, and the origins of the First Order. Animated would be good, that way we don't face the mess of recasting iconic roles. Filoni would do a masterful job with it, in my opinion.

    The only downside for me would be there'd be no Rey, or Finn. I mean I suppose they could show them as lil' babies but that did not work so well with Boba Fett. Same with Poe.

    This will cause too much of an issue linking everything together... think they'll go for less skywalker based tv shows.

    Well, Academy is a very EU-term. Luke had a temple, and it was destroyed, with his students killed by direct assault by the Knights of Ren. We had individual students die from Sith spirits, worldwide bombings, Sith creatures, etc. Plus, people are already upset by Alden Ehrenreich being cast as young Han Solo. Casting Luke as well? Bit of a risk.

    They don't have to recast him since the tech for de-aging is constantly being reduced...

    Hamill still packs quite the dollar, and a season of him would probably kill hopes for it :D But this technology is awesome, when I saw young Jeff Bridges in Tron, I didn't think it was possible, though I see where it's weaknesses are now, but that was a movie, so massive budget :D

    It probably costs 25% of that now while it looks 75% better...I've seen new tech with my own eyes recently and it's been freaking awesome.

    I think they would make Lukes Jedi Academy into a anthology movie instead. I think it would be in parts like SW: The Rise(pt1) and The Fall(pt.2). I dont see SW having a TV series.

    Since Luke's Jedi order only consisted of Luke and Ben Solo, I don't think it will ever happen. The post-sequel Jedi Order is a more likely candidate for a tv series.

    Was it just Ben? I thought there were several others, and that the Knights of Ren "slaughtered" people in their attack. He might have been Luke's personal padawan, however.

    Agreed, but apparently there's a picture floating around that has Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes from the MCU and the Mad Hatter from Once Upon a Time) looking exactly like Luke Skywalker once you photoshop the hair on him. Sebastian has done small screen work before, and most actors would LOVE to be in Star Wars, so why not cast him? Or to avert the whole situation of casting, just make it animated.

    Where did you hear about this? I'm genuinely curious, since I thought Han mentioned in TFA Luke having multiple students.

    I thought Han mentioned it when talking to Rey and Finn about Luke. I haven't seen the movie in a while, so I might be totally wrong.
