There's just too many alleged "reveals" for one movie. People have to understand that this movie is only 33.3% of the new characters' stories in this trilogy. You can't cram or blow everything on movie #1. They've never put anywhere near that much revelation into any individual Star Wars movie before. That would be like Palpatine revealing himself to be a Sith to Anakin in Episode I or Luke finding out that Vader is his father and Leia is his sister in Episode IV. So thinking like a storyteller (and observing Abrams's past behavior) I'm wary of these notions. When Abrams waxes nostalgic about Episode IV, he talks about its possibilities that were fulfilled later down the line.

    That's a great point.
Because that is where having coded descriptions of what was filmed and interpreting them falls down. The thing MSW doesn't have is any dialogue. Any narrative.
Or, indeed, any clue about what was/will be scaled back, toned down, or removed altogether...
What I mean is, these reveals are only conclusions MSW is leaping to, whether they turn out to be correct or otherwise in the long run - they may not even be things that are going to be revealed in this movie.

The fact is, we can't ignore what we already know about Star Wars, and people were trying to predict "who was biologically related to who" as far back as the casting calls. Young girl? That's gotta be Han Solo's daughter...
It's going to be hard for this film to hold any secrets because people are expecting and predicting that family twist already.
In fact, the biggets twist would be if none of the new cast are Skywalker/Solo descendents.
I can't imagine Abrams would be so naive about how much ahead of him the audience could be though...

The new "look and find" book leak raises questions about MSW's accuracy.

    1) The book says that BB-8 gets captured with Rey. But MSW says that BB-8 goes to the resistance base with Han, Chewie, and Finn.
    2) The book says that the resistance base is on D'Qar. MSW says it's on Yavin IV.

Also today, Wired released the blueprint of the SKB. http://www.wired.com/2015/11/star-wars-first-order-base/
The accompanying article confirms MSW's claim that the SKB had the codename of "Evil Castle."

So, to summarize.... MSW still needs to man up and be honest with the fact that they only have partial information. That's why they draw so much ire. If they'd just admit it, we would all be grateful for the accurate info they do provide -- instead of lampooning them for the filler they make up. But they certainly do bring it on themselves.

It is there speculation that tends to be off. They have speculated that Yavin was in the movie. It has never actually stated as fact. I agree the part about BB8 being captured is off. I don't know what to make if that info. I have trouble seeing how BB8 got captured and still end up in the back of an X-Wing in the attack in Starkiller as we have seen. However, there overall outline has been pretty spot on. Having read most of there stuff and listened to a lot of the podcasts, they tend to do a better job of differentiating what they are unsure of and what they are more sure of. I know they have been pompous at times but they take a lot of blast as well. Having paid attention to their stuff for awhile I recommend to focus less on the speculation and more to their actually outline as that has been pretty spot on as more and more info is officially seen. The speculation less so.

We knew there were going to be a few inaccuracies but to me it's still very much a match up.

I agree with this. Also, if you don't listen to their podcasts, you really aren't getting an accurate picture. They very much state they have no idea about a lot of stuff. They are just happy that an awful lot of their information has been proven to be accurate. The call sheets were legit. Now, they still don't have a handle on the flashbacks or character relationships, or why Luke is important. I also think there are a number of missing scenes that tie things together. Not to mention re-shoots, editing, etc.

On a side note, I predict the Luke scene with R2 takes place in the first 15 minutes of the movie on Jakku. You won't see his face, but WE will know it's him.

I agree, and i guess thats my biggest problem with the MSW outline, besides the huge arrogance towards all others. The gray area where they speculate on things to fill out holes is insanely convoluted and reeks of fan-fiction. It shows no real feel for story, and they way a film flows. Unfortunately i guess they have a lot of things right, mainly the large beats of the plot and locations. If their speculation somehow proves to be more right then wrong, then good for them. Bad for us, because then the movie will suck.

I mean - kill Han before a big 3 reunion? Only have Luke in there for a few seconds?. That just sounds so insanely stupid i can't believe big-shot Hollywood, writers, directors and producers would come up with something that is so fan fictiony.

What has been proven right about the MSW outline is not what people questioned, the specific details most people disagreed with have not been proven right, and I'm pretty confident they never will, things like:
The opening shot about the lightsaber falling.
The falcon is conveniently there and Finn and Rey board it by chance.
Luke is only briefly in a flashback and at the final shot of the movie.

I'm pretty sure they are wrong about the opening shot with the lightsaber falling.
It does not fit the tone of Star Wars.
It does not fit MSWs own plot outline (because the lightsaber lands on a completely different planet)
It doesn't fit officially confirmed scene #s.

Boarding the Falcon by chance seems to be supported by official footage now. We know that Rey and Finn make a run for a different ship before they end up on the Falcon...

And Luke only having minor appearances is also supported by Luke's absence from all the existing footage from Jakku, Takodana, Starkiller, and D'Qar, as well as Mark Hamill's limited time on set, and the official synopsis for the tie-in game which basically confirms that Luke is missing.

I don't believe they are right about Pip Anderson's role either... because that doesn't fit comments made by the actor about working alongside Daisy, John, and Harrison.

There are some other, very specific details which MSW have been accurate about.
The bloody hand print on Finn's helmet for instance.

That's not going to be his only appearance...
I imagine there may be some kind of hologram recording somewhere, as well as the aforementioned flashback sequences.

If Luke does show up to save the day on Starkiller, the final scene will instead be Luke and Rey travelling to this new planet together... which seems like a bit of a strange ending.

Alternatively, he could be a Force Ghost who speaks to Rey when she feels all is lost... and then after she escapes, he tells her to go to this other planet... to meet someone else.

Where else is Luke supposed to show up?

please, no Force Ghost, not yet
    --- Double Post Merged, Nov 21, 2015, Original Post Date: Nov 21, 2015 ---
here is an idea of what may happen based loosely on the reports from this website noted in at the top.
but I wouldn't want to happen.

    Tread lightly......

Rey and Chewie arrive on a mysterious Island (Skellig). Chewbacca stays with the Falcon and Rey makes along long trek up a long staircase. She reaches the top and notices several hut like homes. She feels something and decides that she must enter one as something seems to guide her. Inside it looks like someone had lived there but not for a long time and she looks around. She spends a few moments looking around but finds nothing but some clues that it was one inhabited. One of the clues seems to be a *music*FORCE MUSIC BEGIN TO PLAY*music* cloak hanging on a wall and what looks like a weapon on a shelf that seems to look like her friends FINN's (the gotcha, clue moment) The next scene has her begin walking away feeling something is missing. Suddenly, a faint voice is heard.

Force Ghost: Your going to give up that fast?

    Rey: Hello, who are you?

Out of the mist comes Force Ghost Luke

    Luke: My baby girl

    Rey: What, how?

Luke: We have a lot to talk about

The sun goes down with a beautiful shot of the ocean...............

    END CREDITS

    Directed by J.J. Abrams

In all theatres people begin to boooooooooooooo!

and throw things at the screen, riots break out......mass chaos.... Disney cancels Star Wars land and the world ends......

    Note: This is a Joke

Thank you. I posted about other discrepancies in another thread.

I remember something that they posted about Luke's hand being on that fallen saber. Boy, that hand must be a skeleton now.

    Really...Come on...

I've been thinking the same thing about multiple BB-8 units rolling around. Maybe some of what has been seen is not the BB-8 but a BB-5 or AA-1. Would make complete sense. No droid is a one of a kind so far., that I can recall. The odds must be 3,720 to 1!
