Making Star Wars Full Synopsis

Well, yeah, that's a logical assumption. But unfortunately, it does not come from a fatbeard at Lucasfilm in a webisode of Rebels Recon. Therefore, it must not be true. Or at least that's what I'm being told by others on this thread.

I enjoyed talking to you, my friend. And somehow I understand you. I guess non of us is fully satisfied with official explanation or some canon stuff. My advice as always - believe what you choose to believe, not what someone dictates to you. Make/choose your own canon and ignore what you don´t like. No one can force you. This is the way I follow myself...

great more magical coincidences. there seems to be no rhyme or reason why anything is happening in these plot summaries. did j.j. just hire some interns to write this movie? because it does sound like the work of professional writers. so far it just sounds like they are retelling ANH and anything new is just the "force" making things happen

 

Like I've said before, the plot is cleaner and less coincidental if Rey is aware of Han and Han is aware of Rey from the start.

Two different story scenarios to make that happen is that Rey ran off with the Falcon and got herself stranded on Jakku. Another scenario is that Rey was put on Jakku for her own good to keep her away from the universe and Han and Chewie are not around all that often because they do work. She longs to see her mother (again) but hasn't been allowed to. So Han would be functioning like Owen (holding Luke back for his own protection), Shmi (parent), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Episode IV mentor). Han and Rey may not get along happily as characters (see Crystal Skull). They could hate each other. We just don't know.

Another know-nothing orphan scenario is where all the coincidences and contrivances take over.

 

i don't think rey is stranded on jakku i think she is there by choice and could leave whenever she wanted.

 

This update (wherever it comes from) may align with King3000, however distorted some of his information may have been at the original time (Lando's son).

I don't think MSW has ever followed-up on this random e-mailer (you never know what you're getting with these folks but it's often not good) either and they may be directly linked.

Her getting Solo's gun seals the deal for me. I agree with Magnar that she has to know Han and he has to know her for it not to feel contrived. And I agree with Mad as a Hatter that she's on Jakku by choice.

If she's just a random orphan, no one is going to care--she has to be a Solo/Skywalker for emotional investment (especially when Han dies).

Plus, her being Solo's daughter explains why she would go in after Solo. I bet he leaves her behind because he doesn't want her to learn about Kylo or something. He wants to censor what Maz tells him...and not let Rey in on it, since he cares about her.

Her parents are probably separated and estranged, her older brother is a Dark Side wack-job, and her uncle is a crazy old man who's gone missing. She has lots of reasons to want to strike out on her own and not look back. I've seen girls do it in real life.

 

Where did he get this info from? He's never mentioned this before and didn't include it in his synopsis.

 

I think he has mashed his new spoilers (Rey+Gun) into past spoilers (Yavin+greenery). thats why it seems weird when reading it.

 

I dont remeber anything about han giving rey his blaster. And now shes getting tipsy at the bar...?

He doesn't site where this new info came from. Suspect this is.

 

Maybe she just takes it during a standoff, but in many photos I've seen she is carrying a holster oh wait someone sent me this.

 

Here would be something cool if Rey is in fact a Solo. If the relationship between Han and Rey is similar to that of Leia and Han meaning;the banter between them is very witty and sarcastic and a lot of subtext.

If she is a Solo it would make some sense that she might be on a mission there for Han smuggling and scavenging things. Since she is mostly a loner, independent, living a solitary life it does resemble Han is a round about way because so was he for the most part. He did have Chewie with him, but it wasn't until he met Luke and everyone else does he change from selfishness to Hero.

 

Honestly, my biggest issue with the synopsis is the ending. I absolutely despise the "unstable ledge that's giving away, and will the hero survive or not?" trope.

Oh, you mean EXACTLY like Spock and his mother in Abram's Star Trek?

It's just too Scooby Doo. I hate it. It's lazy. There are a million better perilous situations that could be invented for this showdown.

I sincerely hope this is wrong.

I find this hard to believe. Didn't Disney just issue a mandate that none of their G or PG film characters could smoke or drink?

Ah. So just smoking. Weird... but OK. So maybe she does get soused. Why not. Luk eordered some sort of libation at the Mos Eisley cantina in the original.

 

The OT had aliens/characters in the Cantina smoking a Huka. Jabba smoked out of a huka. It's part of Star Wars. It would be weird to see Pirates not drinking or smoking spice. I guess no "Death Sticks" are allowed.

 

So, if I'm getting this right..

Finn gets Luke's sword..

Rey gets Han's gun..

And Poe gets Leia's buns.
